Description
Parailel drawer guide
The invention relates to a parallel drawer guide for a drawer or the like which can be drawn out from a furniture carcase via two horizontal drawer guides which are provided one on each side,
Parallel drawer guides of this kind are known by way of example from EP 0 875 178 A2 and serve to synchronise the extraction movement of the two sides of the drawer with one another and thereby to ensure a precise parallel guidance of the drawer relative to the furniture carcase as well as to maintain this synchronisation even In an over-extracted state of the drawer without achieving this over-extraction from a greater installation depth. For this purpose EP 0 875 178 A2 discloses a toothed rod which meshes with a synchronous shaft of the drawer and which in the over-extracted state is extended by an extendable further toothed rod.
Other parallel drawer guides which have a synchronous shaft are known from US 2011/0037362 A1 and EP 2 248 442 A1.
It is the object of the present invention to provide an alternative parailel drawer guide with which the precise parallel guide of the drawer remains even in the overextracted state of the drawer.
This Is achieved according to the invention by a parailel drawer guide having the features of claim 1,
According to the invention during the extraction movement of the drawer the toothed rod moves forwards beyond the front of the carcase so that the synchronisation is maintained even in the over-extracted state of the drawer. The sliding out of the toothed rod takes place via a coupling element which is guided parallel, thereto and which is in driving connection with the toothea rod v>a the drive. The coupling element is entrained by the follower of the drawer over a restricted path wherein the toothed rod is likewise extended out via the drive. The coupling element is tilted after a short travel path into a release position whereby the follower is uncoupled drive-wise from the coupling element. As the drawer is slid in the follower again couples on the coupling element so that the toothed rod is also driven in via the drive.
In principle any motion coupling between the coupling element and the toothed rod is suitable as a drive for the toothed rod. It is particularly preferred if the drive has a gear wheel mounted on the toothed rod rotatable about a vertical axis and meshing with two mutually facing vertical toothed rod portions of the guide part and the coupling element. In this case the toothed rod is extended in a reduction ratio of 1:2. thus in the drawer extension direction half as much as the coupling element. Alternatively the drive can also be formed by a belt drive acting between the toothed rod and the coupling element.
The coupling element preferably has, for locking the follower, a locking groove with a horizontal grooved portion which is open in the drawer extraction direction, and an inclined grooved portion adjoining same counter to the drawer extraction direction.
The coupling element is preferably pretensioned into the release position at least in the extracted end position. If the release position is formed by the lower tilted position, the inherent weight of the coupling element can already provide sufficient pretension. The coupling element is however preferably pretensioned into the release position by spring force (or other external forces). By way of example a spring which pretensions the coupling element into the release position can act between the guide part and the coupling element.
With a particularly preferred embodiment of the parallel drawer guide according to the invention the coupling element is guided with a control arm on a guide surface of the toothed rod wherein the guide surface has a cam which deflects the coupling element in the extracted end position into the release position or, just before reaching the extracted end position pretensions the coupling element into the release position through elastic deformation. This measure has the advantage that the movement of the drawer is not impaired by an additionai spring force.
The coupling element advantageously has at its rear end in the drawer extraction direction a stop face which is set back relative to a guide surface and which in the extended position restricts the tilting of the coupling element and thus defines the locking position.
In a preferred embodiment of the parallel drawer guide according to the invention, the synchronous shaft is mounted in two bearing blocks which are provided for fastening on the drawer and on which the followers are also formed. The bearing blocks are each by way of example an injection moulded plastic part with moulded pin-like followers.
Preferably, the guide part can be fastened on the side wall of the carcase by at least one fastening element and the toothed rod is guided for extension by at least one fastening element, wherein all the fastening elements can have the same structural design.
The invention also relates to a furniture with a furniture carcase, with at least one drawer or the like which can be extracted from the carcase via horizontal drawer guides provided on both sides, and with a parallel drawer guide as described above for the at least one drawer.
Further advantages of the invention are apparent from the description, the claims and the drawings. The features mentioned above and those still to be explained can likewise each be used alone or combined into any combination. The embodiment illustrated and described is not to be regarded as conclusive but rather provides an exemplary character for depicting the invention.

In the following description of the drawings identical reference numerals are used for the same or functionally identical components.
The furniture 1 illustrated in Fig. 1 has a carcase 2 with two carcase side walls 3, several drawers 5 which can be drawn out from the carcase 2 by means of horizontal drawer guides 4 provided on each side (only one drawer is shown by way of example in Fig. 1) as well as parallel drawer guides 10 for each of the drawers 5.
As shown in Fig. 2, the parallel drawer guide 10 comprises for each of the two drawer sides a guide part 11 which is provided for fixing on a carcase side wall 3, a horizontal toothed rod 12 which is provided for fixing on a drawer side wall and which is guided horizontally extending in the guide part 11 in the drawer extraction direction 13, and has a horizontal toothed rod-portion 14, a coupling element 15 which is guided horizontally extending in the drawer extraction direction 13 on the toothed rod 12 and on the guide part 11, a gear wheel 17 which is mounted on the toothed rod 12 for rotation about a vertical axis 16, and two fastening elements 18 for fixing the guide part 11 and for guiding the toothed rod 12 on the carcase side waii 2, The parallel drawer guide 10 furthermore comprises a horizontal synchronous shaft 19 provided for fixing on the drawer 4 transversely to the drawer extraction direction 13 (Fig. 1).
The guide part 11, the toothed rod 12, the coupling element 15 and the fastening elements 18 are preferably injection moulded plastic parts. Differently from that shown in Fig. 2, the two fastening elements 18 can also have the same structural design.
The toothed rod 12 and the coupling element 15 are shown in Fig. 3a in their retracted end position and in Fig. 3b in their extended end position.
As shown in Fig. 4 the gear wheel 17 is arranged between two mutually facing, verticai toothed rod portions 20, 21 of the guide part 11 and the coupling element 15 and meshes with the two vertical toothed rod portions 20, 21. The toothed rod 12 is coupled in movement with the coupling element 15 in the drawer extraction direction 13 via the gear wheel 17, namely in a reduction ratio of 1:2 due to the locally fixed vertical toothed rod portion 21 of the guide part 11, i.e. the toothed rod 12 is extended in the drawer extraction direction 13 half as much each time as the coupling element 15. The toothed rod 12 and the coupling element 15 are shown in Fig. 5a in their retracted end position and in Fig. 5b in their extended end position.
So long as the coupling element 15 has not yet reached its extended end position the coupling element 15 Is located in the locking position shown in Fig. 6a in which it is held unable to tilt by the guide part 11 and the toothed rod 12. For this the coupling element 15 bears by its upper side 22 against a lower guide surface 23 of the toothed rod 12, whilst its rear end which is directed opposite the drawer extraction direction 13 rests by its lower guide surface 24 at the top on an upper guide surface 25 of the guide part 11, and its front end, which is directed in the drawer extraction direction 13, rests by a control arm 26 on an upper guide surface 27 of the toothed rod 12. The coupling element 5 has at its outermost rear end a stop face 28 which is set back upwards relative to the lower guide surface 24.
The coupling element 15 has for a follower 29 of the drawer 5, which is configured as a horizontal pin, a lateral locking groove 30 with a horizontal groove portion 31 open in the drawer extraction direction 13, and an inclined groove portion 32 adjoining same counter to the drawer extraction direction 13. in the locking position the follower 29 is located in the inclined groove portion 32 and is thus coupled in movement with the coupling part 5 in and counter to the drawer extraction direction 13.
At the latest when the coupling element 15 has reached its extended end position, on the one hand the coupling element 15 is moved out by its lower guide surface 24 of the guide part 11 beyond the upper guide surface 25, thus no longer rests on the upper guide surface 25. On the other hand the control arm 26 has run onto a cam 33 of the upper guide surface 27 of the toothed rod 12, whereby the coupling element 15 is tilted about a horizontal axis (not shown) into the release position shown in Fig. 6b in which the stop face 28 rests on the upper guide surface 25. In this release position the follower 29 is located level with the horizontal groove portion 31 and is therefore not locked in the coupling element 15 in the extraction direction 13.
As shown in Fig. 1, the synchronous shaft 19 is mounted rotatable in two bearing blocks 34 which are fixed on the drawer 5, and has two gear wheels 35 which mesh with the horizontal toothed rod portions 14 of the two toothed rods 12. The followers 29 can each be formed on the bearing blocks 34.
The mode of operation of the parallel drawer guide 10 is as follows:
When the drawer 5 is closed the coupling element 15 is located in its locking position in which the follower 29 is locked in the inclined locking portion 32 (Fig. 7a).
When the drawer 5 is extracted then the locked follower 29 entrains the coupling element 15 in the drawer extraction direction 13 whereby the toothed rod 12 is also extended forwards by the gear wheel 17 over the front side of the carcase (stroke e.g. 64 mm). Shortly before the coupling element 15 reaches its extended end position the control arm 26 runs onto the cam 33 whereby the coupling element 15 is pretensioned by elastic deformation into the release position. In the extended end position the coupling element 5 therefore tilts into the release position (Fig. 7b) and is entrained no further in the extraction direction 13 by the follower 29 which is now no longer locked.
Since the gear wheels 35 of the synchronous shaft 19 mesh with the horizontal toothed rod portions 14 of the toothed rods 12 on each side, the extraction movement of the two drawer sides is synchronised with one another. This synchronisation also remains in the over-extracted state of the drawer 5 by the extracted toothed rods 12.
When the drawer 5 is pushed in, the follower 29 enters into the horizontal groove portion 31 and, by interaction with the inclined groove portion 32, tilts the coupling element 15 into its locking position. The coupling element 15 is coupled in movement again with the follower 29 so that the toothed rod 12 is also retracted via the gear wheel 17.
