Claims (14)
1. Genetisk modificeret gærcelle der overudtrykker et xylose-transporter polypeptid omfattende en aminosyresekvens der har mindst 90% sekvensidentitet med en aminosyresekvens valgt fra gruppen bestående af SEQ ID NO:2 og SEQ ID NO:4.
2. Genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge krav 1, yderligere omfattende en aktiv arabinose fermenteringsvej, hvor cellen omfatter et eller flere exogene arabinose fermenteringsvej-gener valgt fra gruppen bestående af Al, RK, og RE gener.
3. Genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1 og 2, yderligere omfattende en aktiv xylose fermenteringsvej, hvor cellen omfatter et eller flere exogene xylose fermenteringsvej-gener valgt fra gruppen bestående af XI og XK gener.
4. Genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 2 og 3, yderligere omfattende en aktiv ikke-oxidativ pentosephosphatvej, hvor cellen omfatter et eller flere exogene ikke-oxidativ pentosephosphatvej-gener valgt fra gruppen bestående af TKL og TAL gener.
5. Genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge krav 4, hvor cellen yderligere omfatter et eller flere exogene ikke-oxidativ pentosephosphatvej-gener valgt fra gruppen bestående af RPE og RKI gener.
6. Genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1,2, 3, 4 og 5, hvor gærcellen yderligere omfatter en deletion eller afbrydelse af et eller flere gener valgt fra gruppen bestående af AR/XR, arabitol 4-dehydrogenase, xylulose reduktase, og XDH gener.
7. Genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1,2, 3, 4, 5 og 6, hvor gærcellen yderligere omfatter en deletion eller afbrydelse af et eller flere gener valgt fra gruppen bestående af ALD og ADH gener.
8. Genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6 og 7, hvor gærcellen tilhører I. orientalis/P.fermentans kladen.
9. Genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge krav 8, hvor gærcellen er I. orientalis.
10. Fremgangsmåde omfattende en fremgangsmåde til fermentering, hvor en genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6 og 7 dyrkes i fermenteringsmedium omfattende xylose.
11. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 10 til produktion af ethanol fra et medium omfattende xylose omfattende dyrkning af en genetisk modificeret gærcelle ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 og 7 i et medium omfattende xylose.
12. Fremgangsmåde til fermentering ifølge krav 11, hvor mediet omfatter mindst 10 g/L xylose fra et plante-biomasse hydrolysat.
13. Isoleret polynukleotid der koder for et polypeptid omfattende en aminosyresekvens der har mindst 90% sekvensidentitet med en aminosyresekvens valgt fra gruppen bestående af aminosyresekvenserne angivet i SEQ ID NO:2 og SEQ ID NO:4, hvor polypeptidet er i stand til at transportere xylose ind i en gærcelle.
14. Isoleret polypeptid omfattende en aminosyresekvens der har mindst 90% sekvensidentitet med en aminosyresekvens valgt fra gruppen bestående af aminosyresekvenserne angivet i SEQ ID NO:2 og SEQ ID NO:4, hvor polypeptidet er i stand til at transportere xylose ind i en gærcelle.
