Claims (14)

1. Apparat til bestemmelse af indvirkningen af bruxisme på et individ i et tidsrum, hvilket apparat omfatter: • et middel til at overvåge muskelaktivitetssignaler af mindst én af tyggemusklerne, • et middel til at bearbejde disse signaler for at bestemme varigheden og intensiteten af hver bruxisme-episode og tælle antallet af bruxisme-episoder, • et middel til at bestemme den samlede indvirkning af bruxisme i tidsrummet ved at beregne indvirkningen af hver bruxisme-episode baseret på integrering af intensiteten i forhold til tid for hver bruxisme-episode og sammentælle hver beregnet indvirkning af hver bruxisme-episode, og • et grafisk og/eller numerisk displaymiddel, som er konfigureret til at vise den bestemte samlede indvirkning.
2. Apparat ifølge krav 1, som desuden omfatter et middel til at lagre signalerne og/eller den samlede indvirkning.
3. Apparat ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor bearbejdningsmidlet er tilpasset således, at intensiteten af muskelaktivitet skal være over en foruddefineret tærskel for at blive karakteriseret som bruxisme.
4. Apparat ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor bestemmelse af den samlede indvirkning af bruxisme desuden er baseret på integrering af den samlede muskelaktivitetsintensitet i forhold til tid.
5. Apparat ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor kun muskelaktivitetsintensitet over en foruddefineret tærskel er en del af integreringen.
6. Apparat ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, som desuden omfatter mindst én elektrodeanordning, som er tilpasset til at overvåge muskelaktivitetssignalerne, og hvor muskelaktivitetssignalerne er EMG-signalerfra den mindst ene elektrodeanordning.
7. Apparat ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, som desuden omfatter et middel til at tilvejebringe et feedbacksignal til den mindst ene tyggemuskel som svar på detektionen af en bruxisme-episode.
8. Apparat ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, som desuden omfatter et middel til at måle muskelaktivitetssignaler af den venstre og den højre side af ansigtet samtidigt.
9. Apparat ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, som desuden omfatter et middel til at indføre og lagre mindst én værdi, som repræsenterer individets personlige opfattelse af smerte og/eller ømhed af kæben og/eller tyggemusklerne og/eller ansigtsmusklerne på en skala, såsom en psykometrisk responsskala, såsom en visuel analog skala (VAS).
10. Apparat ifølge et hvilket som helst af de foregående krav, hvor det grafiske og/eller numeriske displaymiddel desuden er konfigureret til at vise én eller flere af følgende parametre: den gennemsnitlige og/eller mediane indvirkning, varighed, styrke og/eller bidekraft af hver bruxisme-episode, antallet af bruxisme-episoder, antallet af bruxisme-episoder over en foruddefineret tærskel, såsom en foruddefineret bidekrafttærskel, forløbet af indvirkningen under ét eller flere tidsrum, en langtidsevaluering af bruxisme-indvirkning, korttids- og langtidssammenligning med personlig opfattelse af smerte og ømhed.
11. Fremgangsmåde til bestemmelse af indvirkningen af bruxisme på et individ i et tidsrum, hvilken fremgangsmåde omfatter følgende trin: a) fremskaffelse af EMG-muskelaktivitetssignaler, som er opnået fra mindst én af tyggemusklerne ved hjælp af mindst én elektrodeanordning, b) bearbejdning af disse signaler for at bestemme varigheden og intensiteten af hver bruxisme-episode og tælle antallet af bruxisme-episoder, c) beregning af indvirkningen af hver bruxisme-episode baseret på integrering af intensiteten i forhold til tid for hver bruxisme-episode, bestemmelse af den samlede indvirkning af bruxisme i tidsrummet ved at sammentælle hver beregnet indvirkning af hver bruxisme-episode, og d) visning af den bestemte samlede indvirkning.
12. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 11, hvor intensiteten af muskelaktivitet skal være over en foruddefineret tærskel for at blive karakteriseret som bruxisme.
13. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 11 til 12, hvor den samlede muskelaktivitetsintensitet i forhold til tid integreres.
14. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et hvilket som helst af kravene 11 til 13, hvor kun muskelaktivitetsintensitet over en tærskel er en del af integreringen.
