Abstract
A rotor blade (16) for a wind turbine (10) and a method for reducing rotor blade (16) noise are disciosed, The rotor blade (16) inciudes a body (20) having exterior surfaces defining a pressure side (22), a suction side (24), a leading edge (26), and a trailing edge (28) extending between a tip (32) and a root (34), the surfaces further defining an interior (40). The rotor blade (16) further inciudes at least one purge conduit (100) defined in the tip (32) and configured for exhausting air (102) from the interior (40) such that the air (102) generally reduces noise at the tip (32).
