Abstract

A wood chipping assembly has a frame with two parallel contra-rotating helical cutting-profile shafts. The shafts are at least partly enclosed by a chip grading basket. The cutting interface gap between the two shafts is fed from above by an elongated funnel. Chips falling from the cutting interface fall through the basket into a trap. The slide-removable basket forms a single unit with the chip trap.
