Abstract

The train safety protection method uses transmission of telegrams via data transmission units ((F11,F12) arranged at spaced points (L0,L1,L2) along a track section, cooperating with an onboard antenna upon passage of the train above the transmission unit. The reception time points of at least 2 telegrams are evaluated onboard the train, for determining the train velocity, compared with maximum velocity information contained in a received telegram for providing a warning signal or activating automatic braking.
