Abstract

A closure unit is disclosed for closing and reclosing a bag (32), in particular a bag for holding foodstuffs such as bread, confectionery or noodles. The closure unit consists of a strip (12) which can be laid around the bunched neck of the bag (32) in such a way that the inside of the strip (12) at one end (16) overlaps with the outside of the strip at the other end (18) and is fixed in this position. It is proposed that the strip (12) bear an adhesive (14) on one side at least in the overlap region of the ends (16, 18); the adhesive power of the adhesive will be sufficient to hold the overlapping ends together while allowing them to be detached by hand. The material of the strip (12) is such that visible changes in its material structure are present after the closure has been opened once, and adhesive-free areas are also provided on the adhesive-bearing side of the strip (12).
