Abstract

A spacer profile (1) for insulating glazings is a hollow profile filled especially with drying medium and having two transverse webs (3 and 4) transverse to the pane plane and having two lateral webs (5) extending parallel to the pane plane. The lateral webs (5) have bearing regions (8) bearing directly against the panes (2) and a level difference in the outward direction in relation to the pane plane. This level difference is formed in that the lateral webs (5), starting from their bearing region (8) or also a bearing point (12), shift backwards relative to the pane inner face, at least over a part region of their cross-section, continuously outwards and thereby form a wedge-shaped cavity (9), this wedge-shaped cavity (9) being filled with sealing material (6) which can be moved to and fro according to the movements of the panes and the variation in the wedge shape of the cavity, without being capable of entering the space between the panes. <IMAGE>
