Abstract

The utilisation of a photoselective nonwoven fabric or sheeting, made of polyester, polyethylene or polypropylene and having a basis weight of 20 to 160 g/m<2>, finished with 0.01 g/m<2> to 4.0 g/m<2> of light-reflecting particles and with 0.01 g/m<2> to 3.0 g/m<2> of pigments which selectively absorb wavelengths of 680 nm and 700 nm, as a soil cover results in the bleaching of live plants without undue heating.
