Abstract

A cover (1) for plates, salad bowls, containers or the like, preferably made of plastic, domed and with a round base outline is equipped with graduated shoulders (2) in a total of four sections (3 to 6) offset from one another by 90 DEG . These graduated shoulders (2) project into the concavely domed inner area of the cover (1) and between them enclose in each case square base areas, seen in the plane of projection of the cover (1). In their central sections the shoulders (2) are provided with circular arc curves (7) whose radii of curvature are equal to one another within the individual shoulders (2).
