Abstract

The device (2) has a trough (6), a series of boxes (12) in each case extending in the transverse direction of the trough (6), moulds (14) arranged in the boxes (12) and for receiving the curd to be pressed, and a pressing head (10) having press dies (24) aligned with the moulds (14). The boxes (12) have in the upper region of their longitudinal sides a gap-minimising edge configuration. A device (34) for pushing the boxes (12) together is provided in the longitudinal direction of the trough (6). The two longitudinal gaps running in the longitudinal direction of the trough (6) between the boxes (12) and the trough (6) are covered by longitudinal strips (36). <IMAGE>
