Bei einer bekannten Naht dieser Art sind zwei Nahtfäden wechselweise gegeneinander abgebunden, dergestalt, daß die Stichbildungsstellen des einen Nahtfadens hintereinander mit den Stichbildungsstellen des zweiten Nahtfadens abwechseln. Dabei binden die Maschenfüße des einen Nahtfadens nicht nur die Maschenköpfe des gleichen Nahtfadens ab, sondern darüber hinaus auch noch die Maschenköpfe des zweiten Nahtfadens. Zur Folge hat dies, daß die Maschen des letztgenannten Fadens nur halb so lang sind wie die Maschen des ersten Nahtfadens. Auf diese Weise wird zwar eine Naht geschaffen, die sich beim Reißen eines Fadens nur schwer von selbst auftrennt, die aber ein sehr unregelmäßiges Aussehen bekommt.
