Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein kombiniertes Gerät zum Spielen von Platten- und Magnettonaufzeichnungen. Es sind bereits Geräte vorgeschlagen, bei denen entweder die eine Bandspule auf dem Plattenteller angeordnet ist oder beide Spulen neben dem Plattenteller ihren Platz finden. Das Gerät nach der Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß unter dem abnehmbaren Plattenteller das Chassis des horizontal liegende Bandspulen enthaltenden Magnettonspielers angeordnet ist. Dies gibt eine Zusammenfassung beider Geräte auf verhältnismässig kleiner Fläche. Man kann dann die Anordnung so treffen, dass wahlweise durch Aufsetzen des Plattentellers das Gerät als Plattenspieler und nach Abnehmen des Plattentellers als Magnettonspieler benutzt wird. Hierbei ist es weiterhin für eine räumlich gedrängte Anordnung günstig, dass das Chassis für das Magnettongerät die Möglichkeit bietet, dass die Tonbandspulen versenkt innerhalb des Gerätes laufen, indem entsprechende Vertiefungen oder eine zusammenhängende Vertiefung für beide Tonspulen in dem Chassis vorgesehen sind. Damit die Erhebung des Plattentellers über die Oberfläche des Chassis 1 möglichst niedrig gehalten werden kann, ist eine Kassette 4 für die beiden Tonbandspulen versenkt im Chassis angeordnet. Das aus der Kassette austretende Tonband 5 läuft in einem Kanal 6, der etwa die Form einer flachen Ellipse hat und auf der Oberseite offen ist. Das Mittelstück 7, das von dem Kanal 6 umschlossen wird, enthält auf seiner Oberseite einen Steuerknopf 8, der auch die Form eines Knebels haben kann, und mit dessen Hilfe die Bandlaufrichtung eingestellt werden kann. Beim Einsetzen einer Kassette 4 wird aus dieser eine Band- schlaufe 5 herausgezogen und von oben in den Kanal 6 eingelegt, wodurch das Band die richtige Lage zu seinen Laufführungsrollen und zu den Sprechköpfen erhält. In gleicher Weise hebt sich zusammen mit der Kassette 4 auch die Bandschlaufe 5 aus dem Kanal 6 heraus, wenn man die Kassette 4 entfernen will, etwa um eine andere Kassette einzulegen. Die Höhe des Konuszapfens 2 ist so gewählt, dass der Plattenteller möglichst niedrig über der Oberfläche des Chassis 1 läuft. Dadurch wird dann auch die Höhe des Tonarmes 3 niedrig. Der Konuszapfen 2 ist ein Verlängerungsstück der eigentlichen Plattentellerwelle.
