Tag der Anmeldung: 18. August 1954 Bekanmtgemacht am 27. September 1956Registration date: August 18, 1954. Made famous on September 27, 1956
DEUTSCHES PATENTAMTGERMAN PATENT OFFICE
Chem. Soc, Bd. 72, 1950, Seiten 3062 bis 68). Die Ausbeuten betragen hierbei etwa 50% der Theorie. It is known that pure trans-9-decahydronaphthyl hydroperoxide in the heat under the action of acidic, alcoholic solutions in the 6-alkoxycyclodecanon- (i) corresponding to the alcohol used surrounded (R. Criegee, Reports of the German Chemical Society, Vol. 77, 1944, P. 725; A.C. Cope and G. Holzman, Journ. At the. Chem. Soc, Vol. 72, 1950, pages 3062 to 68). the Yields here are about 50% of theory.
It has now been found that one can do the rearrangement of trans-9-decahydronaphthyl hydroperoxide with an excess of a low molecular weight aliphatic Alcohol, e.g. B. methanol or ethanol, to the corresponding 6-Alkoxycyclodekanon- (i) on technical advantageous way already in the reaction mixture, which in the air oxidation of decahydronaphthalene, in particular according to the method of patent application F 15507 IVb / 12 o, accrues, expediently after previous Separation of the unreacted decahydronaphthalene can make. The yields are here at least as high as when one starts from pure trans-9-decahydronaphthyl hydroperoxide.
This is surprising, since such a reaction mixture already substantial amounts, namely about 40 to 70 ° / 0, of alcohols, namely α- and / - Dekahydronaphtholen contains. Remarkably, however, these alcohols do not participate in the formation of 6-alkoxycyclodecanone- (i).
B. die Lösung neutralisieren, denTo separate the 6-alkoxycyclodecanone (i) prepared according to the invention in the reaction mixture you can z. B. neutralize the solution, the

So erhält man z. This creates a bisulfite addition compound - only with the /? - naphthanone also present in the mixture, which is easy to separate while the other ketones contained in the mixture remain in solution. You can z. B. convert into oximes, then distill off the alcohols still present in the mixture, the residue z. B. take up in methanol and the oximes, preferably fractionated, crystallize therefrom and cleave. So you get z. B. the oxime of 6-Methoxycyclodekanon- (i) by cooling the methanolic solution to - 80 ° as a pale colored crystal powder. It has a melting point of 80 to 85 ° and can be obtained by repeated recrystallization from approximately twice the amount of methanol, mp pure (melting point 91-92 0).

Der Rückstand enthält 15,9 °/0 Hydroperoxyd und keine nach-.weisbaren Mengen an trans-9-Dekahydronaphthol, wie die fraktionierte Destillation einer Probe im Hochvakuum zeigt.in the presence of about 0.05 ° / 0 of a mixed catalyst of acidic oil is oxidized such that residence time die.mittlere 1 cobalt-manganese-zinc cerium at 170 0 and at a pressure of 2.5 to 3 atm with 300 1 air per hour Z 4 hours and the conversion is about 6 ° / 0 . The reaction mixture / 0 has an acid number of 0.82 and a Peroxydgehalt of 2.6 ° is treated with a saturated aqueous saline solution, which contains io ° / 0 NaOH, washed free of acid and with methanol. The methanol is distilled off from the methanol extract via a column. Subsequently, the co-extracted decahydronaphthalene (about / 0 of the concentrate 49 °) (= 34 Kp. Ol to 36 0) distilled off under greatly reduced pressure. The residue contains 15.9 ° / 0 hydroperoxide and no after-.weisbaren amounts of trans-9-Dekahydronaphthol as fractional distillation shows a sample in a high vacuum.
The hydroperoxydhaltige mixture is now allowed according to the invention with vigorous stirring into the heated under reflux to boiling for 2 to 3 times the amount of absolute methanol, is the o quenched by addition of at least 98 ° / sulfuric acid is about in H 2 SO 4, in thin. Stream flow so that the reaction. (Foaming of the solution) is too violent not .. After the addition is complete the reaction mixture is still 1 Z 2 to 1 hour under reflux and stirring, boiling and then neutralized, the solution by pro-wise addition of calcium or barium (about io ° / 0 Excess). The hot solution is suctioned off by calcium or barium sulfate, the precipitate is washed out with methanol and the filtrate is concentrated on the boiling water bath. The peroxide-free, freed from methanol. The residue is stirred with an approximately 2oP / 0 strength bisulfite solution and the bisulfite addition compound of the trans - /? - naphthanone is filtered off with suction. The organic layer freed from trans - ^ .- Naphthanone is then treated with an almost neutral Hydroxy.lamine solution in the heat, the organic layer is separated and the majority of the decahydronaphthols are reduced! Pressure - expediently fractionated - distilled off until the main part of the trans - /? - decahydronaphthol (bp. 01 = 68 °) has passed over. The oily residue still containing decahydronaphthol is dissolved in about twice the amount of methanol and the mixture of trans-a-naphthanone oxime and the oxime of 6-methoxycyclodecanone (i) is obtained as a pale crystal powder by cooling the solution to -80 °. The main amount of trans-a-naphthanone oxime can also first be separated off by cooling to 0 ° and then the remaining oximes by freezing to -80 °.
Kp.12 = 127 bis 1280.The precipitated mixture is dissolved in about 3 times the amount of methanol at the boiling point. On cooling to 0 °, the trans-a-naphthanone oxime, which is significantly more difficult to dissolve, precipitates out first. Upon further cooling to about - 80 °, the oxime of 6-Methoxycyclodekanons- falls (i) having a melting point of 80 to 85 ° and can be obtained by repeated recrystallization from approximately twice the amount of methanol, melting point pure (melting point 91-92 0) are obtained. The yield of 6-methoxycyclodecanonoxime is at least 50% (based on rearranged hydroperoxide) and can be increased to about 70% with appropriate processing of the mother liquors. The oxime can then e.g. B. by heating with a dilute mineral acid, such as 2 η-sulfuric acid, cleaved and so the 6-methoxycyclodecanon- (i) can be obtained. Kp. 12 = 127 to 128 0 .

Instead of the trans-α- and trans - /? - naphthanones or decahydronaphthols obtained in Example 1, the corresponding cis isomers are obtained here . The trans-9-Dekahydronaphthylhydroperoxyd constituting here about 5o ° / 0 of the oxidation products is also rearranged to 6-Methoxycyclodekanon- (i) and as its oxime (melting point 91-92 0) in 50 to no 7O ° / 0 iger yield obtained, which is cleaved in the usual way by heating with dilute mineral acids.
