Bei abschaltbaren Steckdosen spielt die Verriegelung von Stecker und Schalter eine besondere Rolle. Sie erfolgt in den meisten Fällen mit Hilfe eines Sperrhebels, der federnd in dem Gehäusedeckel eingebaut ist und mit Schaltergriff und Stecker zusammenwirkt. Befindet sich kein Stecker in der Steckdose, dann hindert ein Hebelende die Drehung des Schaltergriffes, und die Dose kann nicht eingeschaltet werden. In der Steckdosenabdeckung 1 (Fig. 1 und 2) ist die als Sperrglied verwendete Druckfeder 2 angeordnet und erstreckt sich zwischen Schaltergriff und Steckdose in gleicher Richtung wie die Schalterachse 12 und die Steckdosenbuchsen bzw. Mit ihren unteren Windungen lagert die Druckfeder in der Abdeckung, während ein Teil der oberen Windungen (Fig. 1) in den Schutzkragenraum 3 der Steckdose und der andere Teil in die Drehbahn des Schaltergriffflansches 4 hineinragt, und zwar in einer Ausnehmung 11 desselben (Fig. 3). Wollte man in diesem Zustand die Steckdose einschalten, so würde der Flansch 4 mit seinen seitlich der Feder vorhandenen Vorsprüngen 5 gegen die Feder stoßen. Wird aber der Stecker 6 eingeführt, so drückt er sie bis unter den Flansch 4 zusammen. Nun kann der Schaltergriff 8 gedreht werden, und es setzt sich dabei der Flansch 4 über die Druckfeder. Gleichzeitig wird durch den anderen Flansch9 des Schaltergriffes der Stecker verriegelt, indem sich derselbe in eine Ausnehmung 10 des Steckers schiebt.
