Das neue Verfahren bezweckt, die bei den bisherigen Verfahren beim Bemalen von Plüsch auftretenden Uebelstände: das Abstauben der Farben, die leichte Abreibbarkeit derselben, sowie das matte Aussehen der nach gewöhnlichen Methoden hergestellten Malerei auf derartigen Stoffen, zu vermeiden und das Anbringen einer haltbaren, wirkungsvollen Malerei auf Plüsch, Sammet und ähnlichen Stoffen zu ermöglichen. Ebenso soll es gestatten, auf Plüsch eine haltbare, wirkungsvolle Vergoldung anzubringen, was bisher noch unmöglich war. Zu diesem Zwecke werden die Conturen des zu copirenden Gegenstandes in bekannter Weise durch Aufpausen der durchlochten Zeichnung mittelst eines Puderbeutels und nachheriger Fixirung derselben mittelst Buntstiftes oder in ähnlicher Weise auf den zu bemalenden Stoff übertragen. Hierauf werden innerhalb der zu bemalenden Flächen sämmtliche emporstehenden Fasern des Stoffes mittelst eines Messers oder anderer zweckentsprechender Instrumente, zweckentsprechend auch durch Absengen entfernt und der so hergestellte glatte Malgrund zum Zwecke des Bemalens angelegt. Die zum Grundiren zu verwendende Masse besteht aus einer Mischung von in heifsem Wasser aufgelöstem sogenannten Leimarin und Alaun. Leimarin ist ein mit Borax präparirter Kölner Leim. Die Mischungsverhältnisse sind zweckentsprechend: 4 Theile Leimarin in 5 Theilen heifsen Wassers, ι Theil Alaun in 3 Theilen Wassers gelöst; beide Lösungen werden zusammengerührt und der Mischung 4 Theile Chromgelb zugesetzt. Diese Mischungsverhältnisse können jedoch zweckentsprechend . variirt werden. Nachdem dieser Anstrich getrocknet ist, wird mit einer Mischung von Bernsteinlack, Terpentinöl, Zinkweifs, Chromgelb und Siccativ noch einmal grundirt und dann mit den anzuwendenden Farben, welche in derselben Lösung eingerieben sind, gemalt. Soll eine Vergoldung angebracht werden, so wird die betreffende Stelle mit Goldgrund grundirt und mit echtem Blattgold belegt. Das Ueberfiüssige wird zum Schlufs abgebürstet.
