Infolge dieser Einrichtung wird eine vorzügliche Circulation der Luft durch die Rippen hervorgerufen. Bei der als Beispiel gezeichneten Ausführungsform münden die bei α nach aufsen ragenden Rippen r in den Hohlraum b der Feuerbrücke, welcher durch den Kanal k mit der Aufsenluft und durch den Kanal k1 mit einem nach dem Heizkanal, Schornstein oder ebenfalls nach aufsen führenden Kanal k2 verbunden ist. Infolge der hier herrschenden Hitze entsteht eine Saugwirkung in dem Raum b und dadurch wird die Luft durch die hohlen Rippen gesogen.
