Bei der weiteren Entwicklung des Verfahrens wurde gefunden, daß auch die Derivate der höheren, gegebenenfalls im Kern oder in der Seitenkette substituierten Pihenylalkandiole, wie Äther, Ester usw., mit ausgezeichnetem Erfolge als Abschreckmittel gegen blutsaugendie Insekten verwendet werden können.
