Auch sind Walzen mit durch ein im Abwälzvorgang schneidendes, tangential an der Mantelfläche angreifendes Werkzeug hergestellten Querrillen bekannt, die die Walzstäbe mit quer verlaufenden Rippen versehen. Solche Walzstäbe werden in-sbesondere als Betonstahl verwendet. In diesem Fall verbleiben die Rippen auf der Staboberfläche. Das durch die Walzen gebildete Kaliber wird über seine ganze Breite oder nur teilweise -durch einen Fräser so angeschnitten, daß die Walze als »Zahnrad« und der stillgesetzte Fräser als die zugehörige »Zahnstange« wirken. Die Fräserachse steht hierbei parallel zur Walzrichtung und senkrecht zur Walzachse. Bei solchen bekannten Walzen erfolgt das Eindrücken der OOuerrillen in den Walzstab auf eine besonders schonende Weise. Andererseits gewährleisten sie eine ausreichende »Standzeit« der einzelnen am Walzkaliber angebrachten Erhöhungen oder Vertiefungen (Querrillen). Es wurde hierbei erfindungsgemäß die Erkenntnis ausgenutzt, daß selbst sehr geringe im Walzkaliber quer zur Walzrichtung angebrachte Vertiefungen oder Erhöhungen ein für sich gutes Eingriffsvermögen und eine ausreichende Haltbarkeit besitzen, wenn sie durch einen Abwälzvorgang im Sinne der Verzahnungslehre entstanden sind. Die »Walzenzähne« bzw. Querrillen können dabei so dicht aufeinanderfolgen, daß trotz ihrer geringen Höhe und eben wegen ihrer kleinen Abstände, und zwar auf Grund der größeren Kontinuität des Eingriffes (solcher Rillen), sich ein gesteigertes Greifvermögen der Walze einstellt. Dabei lassen sich die am Walzstab selbst entstandenen Querrippen infolge ihrer geringen Höhe bzw.
