Bei vielen Apparaten zur Entwickelung von Acetylen wird der Zuflufs des Wassers zum Carbid selbstthätig durch den Gasdruck im Sammelbehälter geregelt, indem bei niedrigem Gasdruck ein Wasserhahn sich öffnet. Nach Einführung des Carbids würde bei dem niedrigen Stand des Gasdruckes im Sammelbehälter sich sofort wieder Gas entwickeln, aber in dem Falle keine Wirkung auf den Regulator des Wasserhahnes ausüben, wenn vergessen wurde, die Verbindung zwischen Entwickler und Sammelbehälter wieder herzustellen. Das Gas wird daher leicht durch Ueberdruck im Entwickler zur Explosion gelangen. Um dies zu vermeiden, ist in die Leitung B, welche den Entwickler A mit dem Gasbehälter verbindet, ein Hahn H eingeschaltet, der mit der den Deckel E des Entwicklers A festhaltenden Schraube D derart in Verbindung gebracht ist, dafs behufs Oeffnung des Entwicklers die Schraube gelöst und dadurch gleichzeitig zwangsweise der Hahn H geschlossen, die Verbindung des Entwicklers A mit der Gasglocke also gesperrt und ein Entweichen des Gases verhütet wird, während bei Wiederbefestigung des Deckels E umgekehrt die Schraube D niederbewegt und dadurch zwangsweise der Hahn H wieder geöffnet bezw. die Verbindung des Behälters A mit der Gasglocke wieder hergestellt wird.In many apparatus for the development of acetylene, the inflow of water to the carbide is automatically regulated by the gas pressure in the collecting container, in that a water tap is opened when the gas pressure is low.
