Schlitzgesteuerte Zweitaktbrennkraftmaschine Die Erfindung betrifft
Slot Controlled Two-Stroke Internal Combustion Engine The invention relates to
a slot-controlled two-stroke internal combustion engine with one of the engine and
one driven by an exhaust gas turbine. Fan.
hintereinandergeschaltet. Eine Nachladung der Maschine ist nicht vorgesehen. Zur
Lösung der der Erfindung zugrunde liegenden Aufgabe
konnte diese
bekannte Maschine also keinen Hinweis geben.
The invention is based on the object of such a machine
to carry out a recharge in such a way that the power requirement of the machine is mechanically
driven fan is as small as possible. This object is achieved according to the invention
in that the fan used for flushing in a manner known per se on the one hand
rigid with the exhaust gas turbine and also with the internal combustion engine via an overrunning clutch
is coupled, but so that the latter disengages as soon as the fan runs faster
than the internal combustion engine, while the other, the working cylinder in itself is known
Way through special slots reloading fan with the internal combustion engine rigid
is coupled. With this arrangement, the engine shaft is only the
smaller part of the total to be applied to the reloading blower
Fan drive power decreased, thus a good efficiency of the internal combustion engine
is guaranteed. In a known machine with two fans, the latter are used
only for washing and loading. One driven mechanically by the internal combustion engine

connected in series. The machine is not intended to be recharged. To the

could this
known machine so do not give a hint. The use of overrunning clutches
in fan drives on internal combustion engines is known per se. In one use case
is the first stage of a two-stage centrifugal blower for rinsing and loading one
Internal combustion engine rigid with an exhaust gas turbine and the second stage of the fan
rigidly connected to the internal combustion engine. There is between the two fan speeds
an overrunning clutch arranged so that it engages as soon as the shaft of the first
Stage as a result of leading the exhaust gas turbine rotates faster than the shaft of the second
Step. This mode of operation of the overrunning clutch enables during operation
a transfer of excess turbine power to the internal combustion engine. Basically
In this known arrangement, the overrunning clutch acts in the opposite direction to that
in the machine according to the invention. Another known machine is for

the fluid coupling is also acted upon more strongly, so far that the
excess turbine power is delivered to the internal combustion engine.
miteinander stehende Kurbelwellen arbeiten. Am Zylinder 4 befinden sich Einlaßöffnungen
5 und Auslaßöffnungen. Letztere sind in Hauptauslaßöffnungen 6 und Vorauslaßöffnungen
7 unterteilt.
7 angeschlossene Leitung i i zugeführt.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown schematically, for example. It denotes 1 a slot-controlled two-stroke internal combustion engine, which is designed as a double piston engine. 2 and 3 are the pistons moving back and forth in a cylinder 4, which work via connecting rods, not shown, on two separate crankshafts, also not shown, which are frictionally connected to one another. On the cylinder 4 there are inlet openings 5 and outlet openings. The latter are subdivided into main outlet openings 6 and discharge openings 7. A scavenging fan 9 is connected to the inlet openings 5 via a line 8 and is rigidly coupled to an exhaust gas turbine. The exhaust gas from the cylinder 4 is fed to the exhaust gas turbine through a line ii connected to the discharge slots 7. 12 is the exhaust line connected to the main outlet slots 6 and leading into the open air. In addition to the inlet and outlet slots, there are also recharging slits 13 on the cylinder, which are connected via a line 14 to a recharging fan 15 rigidly coupled to the engine.
The scavenging fan g is still connected to the internal combustion engine via an overrunning clutch 18
coupled so that it is started when the same, i.e. when there is no exhaust gas
is supplying purge air. The overrunning clutch 18 is between the shaft 16 of the reload blower
and the shaft 17 of the flushing fan g.
The suction side of the recharge blower 15 is with the pressure side of the flushing blower
g connected via a line ig, so that the recharge blower air under pre-pressure
sucks. A pressure regulator can be installed in this line. Furthermore
it may be advantageous to use the line 14 from the supercharger 15
leads to the charging slots 13 to install a cooler 2o.
In the double piston internal combustion engine shown in the drawing
the two crankshafts are offset from one another, so that the piston 2, the discharge slots
7 closes at a point in time at which the reloading slots 13 are still open.
The invention is not limited to double piston internal combustion engines, but rather
is also found in all slot-controlled two-stroke internal combustion engines that work with recharging
applicable with advantage.
an.The internal combustion engine works as follows: When starting up
both the flushing fan g and the reloading fan 15 are initially from the
Internal combustion engine mechanically driven. As the amount of exhaust gas increases, the
Exhaust turbine 1o increasing the power requirement of the scavenging fan g. As soon as the
If the speed of the same exceeds that of the internal combustion engine, the overrunning clutch is engaged
18 and prevents any further power flow from the machine to the flushing fan.
The internal combustion engine continues to only drive. the recharge blower 15 mechanically
at.
The advantages of the invention are that of the total to be applied
Fan drive power only the smaller part, namely the recharging power, of
the engine shaft is removed. The efficiency of the internal combustion engine
is thereby increased significantly.
