Description
Process for improving the fastness properties of dyeings with substantive dyes on cellulose fibers It has been found that the Authenticity properties of dyeings of substantive dyes on cellulose fibers can improve to a considerable extent, if you these staining with solutions of quaternary Post-treated ammonium salts by reacting polyalkylenepolyamines with alkylating agents are obtained up to exhaustive alkylation, wherein one such derivatives of polyalkylenepolyamines used by polymerization of Alkylenimines and subsequent quaternization have arisen. The usage of the products mentioned, which are readily soluble in water, falls within the scope of Use of the peralkylated polyalkylenepolyamines, which according to the method of French patent 779 583 for the aforementioned purpose. Also the present one Alkylation products of polyalkylenimines have the valuable property in to the same extent. In this respect, however, they occupy a special position within the entire group one, than when using the otherwise often (especially with blue to purple substantive colorations) to be observed in the aftertreatment of such Coloration does not occur or occurs only to a very minor extent. This meaningful one Advantage, which could not be foreseen is probably due to the fact that the Starting body of the present process with all close relatives with the Polyalkylenepolyamines have a different chemical structure. While for example that mentioned in the example of French patent specification 779 583 Polyethylene polyamine (made from ethylene chloride and ammonia) probably a branched one Chain and also contains piperazine rings, has the corresponding starting body the compounds used in the present process, polyethylene amine, probably an unbranched straight chain. Example 1o kg of visual fibers (mixture made of cotton and regenerated cellulose) are in the usual way with 3% des Dye Chicago Blue 6 B (S c h u 1 t z, Dye Tables, 7th Edition, No. 51o) colored. The dyed material is then treated in about Zoo 1 of a bath that is in the Liter 4 g of a dilute solution of the reaction product of polyethyleneimine with dimethyl sulfate. A beautiful blue coloration of remarkable value is obtained Water, sweat and wash fastness, which is different in color from the original, untreated staining is unchanged.
For example, the above solution is obtained as follows: 88 Parts of a 50% polyethyleneimine paste are dissolved in about 60 ° parts of water and 290 parts of dimethyl sulfate were added with stirring over the course of a few hours, with one by gradually adding 145 parts of sodium carbonate for permanently alkaline Reaction cares. The reaction mixture is increased by external cooling Maintained 15 to 20 ° and after the addition is complete for several hours at 20 to 30 ° moved. After the reaction has ended, the sodium sulfate which has separated out is sucked off and receives a solution that can be used immediately for the aftertreatment of substantive dyeings can serve. For this purpose it is expediently set to 134o parts so that it - calculated on the starting material is -3.3%.
In gleicher Weise kann man die Färbungen der Farbstoffe Diaminechtviolett BBN (Schultz, a. a. O., Nr. 611) oder Heliotrop BB, (Schultz, a. a. The colorations of the dyes diamine light violet can be used in the same way BBN (Schultz, op. Cit., No. 611) or Heliotrope BB, (Schultz, op. Cit., No. 373) Post-treat as described above. Even in these cases a remarkable one occurs Increase in the fastness properties while maintaining the color shade.
Instead of peralkylated polyethyleneimine, the same can be used The success of the alkylation products of other polyalkyleneimines, such as polypropyleneimine, use.
