Process for the preparation of finely divided pigment dyes of the dioxazine series In the patent specification 821 683 a process for the preparation of salts of phthalocyanine dyes and their free phthalocyanine bases is described, which consists in that a phthalocyanine pigment is reacted with a strong, non-oxidizing acid in an inert organic liquid and that The salt of this phthalocyanine pigment is hydrolyzed to obtain a phthalocyanine pigment that is resistant to flocculation. According to the information in this patent specification, salt formation occurs on treatment with the strong acids due to the basic character of the 8 neighboring nitrogen atoms in the molecule, and pigments with a different degree of distribution are formed on hydrolysis of these salts.
Beispiel --
i beschriebenen.
It has now been found that it is possible in a simple manner to convert pigment dyes of the dioxazine series into fine distribution if they are treated in the presence or absence of organic diluents at normal or elevated temperature with dichloroacetic acid or aromatic sulfonic acids and the finely divided products from the solution or suspension -, sion separates. This course of the reaction could not be foreseen, since the dioxazine derivatives do not have an accumulation of spatially adjacent nitrogen atoms in the molecule. It is therefore not to be assumed that the change in the degree of distribution is due to salt formation as in the case of phthalocyanine pigments. The dioxazine dye pigments can, for example, according to the processes of German patents 517 19q., 6bo 1o2, 6o6 672 and. 637 020. Finely divided according to the present process, they form valuable lacquer and pigment dyes. The latter are particularly suitable because of their excellent lightfastness: for shading the commercially available phthalocyanine pigments, which makes it possible to shift the greenish blue shade to the red side, which was previously not possible with another pigment dye with the same lightfastness. The present process is therefore a valuable addition to the art. Example 1 2o parts by weight of the dioxazine dye obtainable according to Example i of German Patent 517 194 from 2 moles of 3-amino-N-ethylcarbazole and 1 mole of chloranil are converted into 1 »50 parts by weight of anhydrous nitrobenzene 3 Stirred for hours at 6o to 70 °. After cooling to 20 °, the suspension of the dye is mixed with 20 parts by weight of m-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid. When a sample shows that the dark crystal needles in the microscopic image have disappeared and only blue spherical structures are visible, the thin paste is stirred into 750 parts by volume of alcohol and suctioned off. After removing the last residues of the nitrobenzene by means of alcohol and washing until neutral, it is expedient to dry in vacuo. .. -To be obtained to "Thus, a violet powder in contrast to the green brazing starting material in place of nitrobenzene, a halogenated benzene, for example dichlorobenzene, used as a diluent, to obtain the same final product Example -. In a ball mill, 30 - Mill parts by weight of the pioxazine dye from 2-aminonaphthalene and chloranil with 10 to 15 times the amount of xylenesulfonic acid at normal temperature until the crystal needles have disappeared. The green crystal powder turns into a red-violet pigment when the mill contents are mixed into 10 times the amount of boiling water Example 3 ao parts by weight of the dioxazine derivative mentioned in Example 1 are added to a4o parts by weight xylenesulfonic acid at 60 to 70 ° and stirred at this temperature for a further 1 to 2 hours Added 21 boiling water, boiled for 1/4 hour, suctioned hot t and washed neutral. The dried dioxazine pigment is a violet powder, the properties of which correspond to those of the Pigrientes described in Example i: Example 4 5 parts by weight of the dioxazine dye obtainable from 3-aminopyrene and chloranil by the process of German patent 6o6 672 are converted within 1/2 of an hour entered in 100 parts by weight of dichloroacetic acid. The suspension is then warmed to -8o to 90 ° for 8 hours and a solution is achieved in the process. This is left within 1/4 hour in 1300 parts by volume of boiling water. stir well, stir for about 10 minutes, suck off hot and wash with boiling water until neutral. When dried in vacuo, the pigment is obtained in the form of a violet powder.
