Bourletschnüre werden bekanntlich an denjenigen Gestellkanten von Polstermöbeln angebracht, die beim bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauch des Möbelstückes mit dem Körper eines Benutzers in Berührung kommen. Die Bourletschnürc sollen solche Kanten möglichst gut und gleichmäßig abpolstern sowie zum andern die straffe Spannung des Bezugstoffes aufrechterhalten. Für eine gute Abpolsterung der Gestellkanten ist eine elastische Nachgiebigkeit der Bourletschnur innerhalb gewisser Grenzen erforderlich, wobei die Schnur in sich straff genug sein muß, um ein Durchdrücken scharfer Gestenkanten auch bei jahrelangem Gebrauch des Polstermöbels zu verhüten. Die gleichbleibende straffe Spannung des Bezugstoffes hängt davon ab, daß die Bourletschnur einerseits ihren ursprünglichen Querschnitt unverändert beibehält und andererseits unverrückbar an dem Gestell des Polstermöbels zu befestigen ist.Machine-made bourlet cord for upholstery purposes. Wie .die praktische Erfahrung ferner gezeigt hat, behalten die erfindungsgemäßen Bourletschnüre auch bei starker äußerer Druck- öder Zugbeanspruchung ihre ovale Querschnittsform unverändert bei.
