Description

In the following description and in the protection claims, reference is made to the storage of

Audio cassettes = AC, video cassettes = VC, compact disc cassettes = CD

referred to collectively as AV cassettes.

The constantly increasing number of audio cassettes, but especially video cassettes and compact discs, requires for commercial use, primarily in restaurants, discos, etc., but also for private use, a

-simple and space-saving storage option -easy archiving

-good clarity

-quick access to specific titles

The storage systems currently available on the market only partially meet these criteria. They are:

-Flip systems, CDs placed one behind the other to be folded forward

-Box systems, cassettes stored in individual drawers

-Shelving systems, arranged in rows of shelves next to each other and one above the other

-Tower systems, one to four rows of cassettes next to each other in a vertical arrangement

The shortcoming of all systems is that the three main cassette types, AC, VC, CD, can only be stored separately from one another, there is no simple title search system available, and the archive must be re-sorted if it is expanded.

The innovation is based on the task:

-to integrate all three cassette types into one system -to provide the greatest possible protection from dust -to offer a simple search system

-to create space-saving and at the same time representative storage

All this is achieved with the circular magazine described below.

Construction principle

AV cassettes (4) are stored radially between two almost identical circular half-shells. A transparent dust protection cylinder (17) protects the archived AV cassettes (4) from contamination. With the help of circular foot rings (14) or circular holding rings (20),

Several round magazines can be arranged in rows or they can be set up with a central axis tube (22) or with individual tubes (26) as central columns (28). With both setup principles, round magazines, each equipped with AC, VC or CD cassettes, can be arranged one above the other.

Casse11en—Arrangement

The round magazines for the various AV cassettes have different storage capacities due to their different dimensions. The storage capacity of the round magazines is based either on the size of the hollow cylinder (1) or on the size of the round magazine's outer diameter. This results in two possible design variants. The basis for the arrangement of variants 1 and 2 are the dimensions of the CD cassettes that dominate the market, namely the archiving of 36 units per round magazine. Arrangement variant 1 assumes an equal outer diameter of the round magazine and variant 2 assumes an equal outer diameter of the hollow cylinder (1).

The external height dimension of the round magazine for the respective AV cassettes is, according to protection claim 3, for variant and 2 for:
CD's approx. 150 mm
AC's approx 135 mm
VC s approx. 210 mm.

Both examples of arrangement variants 1 and 2 can be arranged in a round magazine column, see Fig. 4.

Archiving and search system

On the upper outer edge of each round magazine there is a colored magazine identification ring (13). The color of this ring is different for each round magazine of an AV cassette type. This means that, for example, when using the color values yellow, orange, red, violet, blue and green, 6 differently colored round magazines can be distinguished in a round magazine column. The second distinguishing feature of the round magazines is the different heights and the numerical marking, corresponding to variant 1 for CDs 1 - 36, for ACs 1 - 48, for VCs 1 - 24, or the corresponding segmentation in 10 °, 7.5 °, 15 ° of the round magazine outer edges.

By multiplying the color values offered and the 3 different segmentations, 18 round magazines could theoretically be arranged one above the other without repeating the magazine marking.

All archived AV cassette titles are registered in an ABC register (33), either in hardware or software, with the color of the magazine identification ring (13) and the numerical identification of the placement in the insertion slots (11) of the respective round magazine.

Technologies that can be used as manufacturing processes* for WndmlfgaTin include:

-Plastic deep drawing, injection molding and machining

-Metal die casting, bending and deep drawing -Wood machining

The innovation is explained in more detail below using examples shown in the drawing. The drawing shows:

Round magazine, characterized in that two dimensionally identical hollow cylinders (1) with bases (2) and an edge as a circular ring (3) are connected to one another directly and in a torsion-proof manner via the bases (2) in such a way that AV cassettes (4) are stored radially arranged between the two circular rings (3). 2. Round magazine according to claim 1, characterized in that the circumference of the hollow cylinder outer diameter (1) and the circumference of the circular ring inner diameter (3) are each a multiple of the thickness of the respective AV cassette type. (AC 17 mm, VC 25 mm, CD 10 mm) 3. Round magazine according to claim 5, characterized in that the guide webs (10) begin at the outer edge of the circular ring (3) with a height of approximately 10-15 mm and, as they run in the direction of the outer wall of the hollow cylinder (1), reduce to 0 mm and thereby come close to touching. 7. Round magazine according to claim 5, characterized in that the guide webs (10) on the outer edge of the circular ring (3) are connected to one another by a connecting web (12). 8. Round magazine according to claim 5, characterized in that the number of guide webs (10) and their distance from one another is determined by the thickness of the respective AV cassette type, plus a tolerance distance of approximately 3 mm. 9. By turning the double web (8) of the upper circular ring (3), the desired AV cassette in the round magazine is moved up to the access opening (18) and can be removed. 19. Round magazine according to claim 18, characterized in that the rotation of the round magazine takes place around the central axis tube (22). The round magazine is guided through the clearance fit openings (23) in the bases (2) and through the clearance fit between the inner edge web (5) of the circular ring (3) and the upper half of the four-fold upstand (15) of the holding circular ring (20). The round magazine is held by the connection of the support ring (24) to the lower half of the four-fold upstand (15) of the holding circular ring (20). 20. Round magazine according to claim 18 and 19, characterized in that a longitudinally oriented, double hole pattern (25) for fastening support rings (24) is present in the central axis tube (22). This hole pattern (25) takes into account the dimensions of the three different heights of the round magazines for AC, VC and CD cassettes. 21. Round magazine according to claim 20, characterized in that as an alternative to the continuous central axis tube (22), the individual tubes (26) each with a bent tube end piece (27), the length of which corresponds to the height of the respective round magazine for AC, VC and CD cassettes, are used. The support ring (24) is hereby placed on the bent tube end piece (27) of several individual tubes (26) before they are plugged into one another. This fixes the support ring (24) in its position. 22. Round magazine according to claim 19 - 21, characterized in that central columns (28) can be assembled with several round magazines for the same or different AV cassette types. A circular disc base (29) with an outer diameter of approximately 300 - 350 mm ensures the stability of the central column (28). 23. The fastening plug of the end cap (31) protrudes into the tube as a register container (32) and serves as storage for the ABC register (33). 26. Round magazine according to claims 9-11, 16 and 25, characterized in that all titles of the archived AV cassettes are registered in the ABC register (33), alphabetically ordered and with the color of the magazine identification ring (13) as well as their numerical placement in the insertion slots (8). In the ABC register (33) there is a card for each letter. The round magazines can be loaded with AV cassettes in any order. This eliminates the need to sort the AV cassettes in the round magazine (in alphabetical order, by subject area, etc.) or to re-sort them accordingly in the round magazine when the archive is expanded. Alternatively, registration can be done via a PC.
