DESCRIPTION

The invention relates to a woven chemical fiber tape for lifting, transporting and/or lashing loads with an identification label in the form of letters, numbers and/or symbols that can be applied to the fabric from the outside in at least one labeling field.

The chemical fiber straps mentioned above, in particular lifting straps made of synthetic fibers in accordance with DIN 61360, are straps made of polyester (PES) or polyamide (PA) or polypropylene (PP) for lifting or lashing loads.

They differ in physical and/or chemical terms, for example in terms of strength, elongation at break, hot air shrinkage, wet strength, resistance to abrasion, rotting, acid attacks or alkalis or hydrocarbons etc.

According to the relevant standard (CEN), these straps are provided with a sewn-in plastic label on which, among other things, information about the manufacturer and the strap type, as well as load capacity according to different types of attachment, are given.

Between initial use in the new state of manufacture and discarding if wear is evident, such belts must be subjected to a responsible safety inspection at specified intervals, depending on their intended use, for example in connection with chemicals, different temperature ranges, under particularly wear-prone conditions, etc.

Lifting straps according to DIN 61360 must be removed when:

- Yarn breaks and

- Incisions in the tissue (more than 10 % of the tissue)

- Damage to the load-bearing seams

- Deformation due to heat influence (friction, radiation)

- Damage caused by aggressive substances

As a basis for the inspection intervals to be determined depending on the operating conditions, the belt must therefore be marked with the delivery date in addition to the marking required by DIN, and this date must be included in at least one label field with an identification label in the form of letters, numbers and/or symbols that can be applied to the fabric from the outside. This label must be designed in such a way that it is clearly visible under all operating conditions and over the entire period of use of the belt until it is ready for disposal and even afterwards. This is the only way a company can check and determine whether belts show significant differences in quality compared to the required and (guaranteed) operating conditions, and in some cases also whether the operating personnel have handled the lifting gear professionally and carefully or with safety awareness during operation.

Based on this, the invention is based on the task of designing the additional labeling field, which is essentially applied to the fabric of the tape on the day of delivery using a printing technique known to those skilled in the art and certifies the date of delivery, in such a way that it remains clearly legible under all conditions of use and application of the tape, even under the toughest operational stresses.

The solution of the problem is achieved with the invention in a rubber fiber tape of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 with the invention in that the labeling field

or the label is covered by a protective layer made of plastic that is at least translucent and does not hinder the recognition of the label.

The presence of a transparent or at least translucent protective layer made of plastic means that the label field with the date is permanently protected so that it remains clearly visible even under the toughest conditions of use of the tape, including exposure to abrasion, dirt, acids or bases, hydrocarbons, moisture, etc.

One embodiment provides that the protective layer is a sprayed-on plastic film of a predetermined layer thickness.

However, it is also possible to use the measure that the protective layer is a printed plastic film of a predetermined layer thickness.

And finally, the protective layer can be a plastic film laminated onto the fabric of the tape. The identification label itself, which is not the subject of the invention, can be applied from the outside on the fabric of the tape in a manner familiar to the person skilled in the art, e.g. by means of a conventional printing technique using laser printers, screen printing, pad printing, stamp printing and similar techniques.

Depending on the type of plastic and the application, the thickness of the protective layer can be between 10 and 500 micrometers, preferably between 20 and 200 and particularly preferably between 50 and 150 micrometers (ytO). Another embodiment provides that the protective layer consists of an abrasion- and/or cut-resistant quality of plastic. The higher the resistance of the plastic to external damage, the thinner the protective film that can be produced from it can be.

has proven to be optimal in terms of processability using economical means and suitability for the intended task. However, this should not exclude other plastic materials and their processing into protective layers according to the invention.

Particularly good adhesion of the plastic film forming the protective layer is achieved by the protective layer and the fibers of the fabric for the tape being made of the same type of plastic. This is important when selecting the plastic for special applications such as for immersion baths with acids, alkalis, hydrocarbons, etc.

In order to prevent the label from becoming washed out or unclear from the "unprotected" side, for example due to the penetration of acids, bases or moisture, hydrocarbons, etc., a further embodiment essential to the invention provides that the synthetic fiber tape in the area of the label or the labeling field
is covered with a protective layer on both the label side and the side facing away from the label.

Furthermore, a preferred embodiment provides that the chemical fiber tape in the area of the labeling has a label-friendly primer layer, preferably made of
plastic.

It is clear that applying numbers or letters to the sometimes very uneven surface of a fabric causes difficulties - especially with small print - and the recognition of the characters or numbers is difficult. By applying

This disadvantage is overcome. This primer can be applied in a manner known to those skilled in the art, e.g. by spraying, printing or laminating.

In some cases, it can also be a firmly sewn-on label made of relatively smooth fabric, which is then labeled and covered with a protective layer according to the invention. The protective layers on one or both sides of the tape and/or the primer layer can be films or hot-melt adhesive preparations that can be applied under thermal conditions.

The invention is shown in schematic drawings and in a highly simplified and considerably enlarged representation, whereby further advantageous details of the invention can be seen from the drawings. They show:

Figure 1 shows the sectional view of a tape area, whereby the tape consists of the fabric (1)", which is shown in a purely schematic representation and consists of the load-bearing yarns (6) of the warp threads and the yarns (7) of the weft threads that hold the fabric (1) together. The number (2) indicates a label that can be applied using printing technology. According to the invention, this is covered by a protective layer (3) made of plastic that is at least translucent and does not hinder the recognition of the label (2). Figure 2 shows a further embodiment in which the fabric (1) of the synthetic fiber tape has, in addition to the coating (3) of the label (2), an additional protective layer (4) on the side (10) facing away from the label (2).

And finally, Figure 3 shows a section through a tape region (1) with the labeling field (8), in which region not only the protective layers (3 and M) are arranged, but additionally a label-friendly primer layer (5), preferably made of plastic, is present below the labeling field (8).

The invention is uncomplicated, can be carried out using economical means and offers the advantage that an identification label (2) that can be applied to the fabric (1) from the outside when a tape is delivered and that essentially indicates the delivery date is covered by the protective layer (3) that does not hinder the recognition of the label (2) in such an advantageous way that harmful influences that occur during the course of operational stress, such as dirt, abrasion, acid or base attacks, etc., cannot negatively influence the ability to recognize the date of use.

Of course, the invention is not only limited to a label field (8) with date information. Rather, it can also be used to advantage for other important information on an identification label.

The invention thus solves the problem posed at the beginning in an optimal manner.
