Verklinkerungen. The invention relates to a ventilation brick for the rear ventilation of facing masonry, such as brickwork.
These ventilation bricks are used to allow air to flow in the space between two walls, i.e. between the load-bearing interior wall of a house and the brickwork covering it. The space is intended to improve the thermal insulation of the house. It consists of an approx. 8 cm thick layer of insulating wool and an approx. 6 cm thick layer of air. To avoid moisture accumulating in the space, which can lead to rotting, decay, etc., it is essential to provide ventilation options. Up to now, ventilation bricks made of concrete have been used for this purpose, for example, which were inserted into the brickwork at certain intervals, or the butt joints were left open at certain intervals.
The disadvantage of these concrete ventilation bricks is that they can disturb the external appearance of the building because their color and surface do not match the brick facade. The ventilation bricks often become particularly disturbing after just a few years because they are not colorfast and take on a uniform gray color.
The invention is therefore based on the task of finding a way to largely avoid optical disturbances to a clinker brick facade caused by randomly arranged ventilation bricks.
This task is solved with the ventilation stone mentioned above because it is designed as a brick and consists of fired clay.
7S97dtSGA,DOC7S97dtSGA,DOC
This has the advantage that the material, surface finish and color of the ventilation brick can be adapted to the corresponding properties of the surrounding clinker bricks, since both are made of clay. In particular, no color changes can occur over time that differ from the surrounding clinker bricks, as has previously been observed with concrete ventilation bricks.
When the brick is installed, the ventilation ducts are preferably inclined so that any rainwater that hits them runs off to the outside.
The ventilation bricks are hollowed out from the inside, with the ventilation ducts in this case ending in the cavity.
Es zeigt:Further details, features and advantages of the invention emerge from the following description of embodiments based on the drawing. It shows:

An der dem Zwischenraum bzw. der tragenden Wand zugewandten Innenseite des Lüftungsziegels sind Lüftungsgase, Maschendraht oder Gitter 3 befestigt, mit demThe ventilation brick 1 shown in Fig. 1 is provided with two ventilation ducts 2 extending horizontally in the plane of the drawing. These ventilation ducts run in the plane of the drawing shown in Fig. 2 at an angle, namely in the direction of the outside, which is free in the installed position, through the ventilation brick. This ensures that rainwater falling from the outside runs off to the outside. Ventilation gases, wire mesh or grilles 3 are attached to the inside of the ventilation brick facing the gap or the load-bearing wall, with which

This prevents vermin from entering the gap between the two walls.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in Fig. 2, the ventilation brick is hollowed out from behind. The cavity 4 saves material and weight, which makes handling easier and improves the ventilation properties. The ventilation ducts 2 opening into the cavity 4 are covered with a grid 3 or similar to prevent the ingress of vermin.
·The ventilation brick according to the invention is preferably manufactured by pouring liquid clay into a suitable mold. The molded green body can then be surface-treated, dried and fired in the usual way, just like a normal brick. The surface treatment, e.g. the introduction of a decorative grain, is carried out by rolling and sanding. The ventilation brick according to the invention is fired in the same way as the clinker bricks with which it is to be used.
