AnsaugfilterIntake filter
BeschreibungDescription
The invention relates to a suction filter for dirty water pumps, consisting of a filter part and a connection part for the pump suction line.
Suction filters of the type mentioned above are known in many different forms for a wide variety of purposes. In particular, in rainwater harvesting systems, the filter systems must prevent dirt particles as well as leaves, flowers, moss or similar from getting into the suction area of the pumps.
In continuous operation, it has been found that the disadvantage of such filters is that the known intake filters often become clogged and thus the suction resistance for the pump is constantly increasing.
To avoid this disadvantage, foot valves with sieves (coarse filters) have been used to separate the dirt carried in the rainwater from the pump system. However, the design of the known foot valves is not suitable, particularly for the downstream pressure booster pumps and valves, and represents a source of danger that impairs the operational safety of such systems.
The object of the present invention is to improve the design of a suction filter in such a way that all fine particles larger than 0.23 mm are filtered out of the rainwater, that operational reliability and maintenance intervals are increased, while at the same time the pump should develop an optimal efficiency during the entire operating period.
This task is solved by an intake filter with the features specified in claim 1. It has been shown that the simultaneous use of a fine filter, check valve and floating ball can significantly extend the operating time of a rainwater utilization system between maintenance intervals. Furthermore, pump wear is reduced and contamination of the valves in the intake and pressure areas is reduced.
Es zeigen:The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. It shows:
Figur 1 Längsquerschnitt durch einen erfindungsgemäßen Ansaugfilter Figure 1 Longitudinal cross-section through an intake filter according to the invention
Figur 2 prinzipielle Anordnung eines erfindungsgemäßen Ansaugfilters in einer RegenwassersammelanlageFigure 2 basic arrangement of an intake filter according to the invention in a rainwater collection system
According to Figure 1, the filter part 1 consists of two cup disks 2a, 2b held at a distance from one another, between which a filter medium 3 is held, which consists for example of a flexible steel mesh with a mesh width of 0.1 to 0.3 mm. The cup disks 2a, 2b are connected to the filter medium 3 by spot welding at the ends.
A pump suction line 4 is connected to one of the two cup disks, which is at least partially flexible. Between the pump suction line 4 and the cup disk 2b there is also a check valve 5, which ensures that a column of water always remains in the connected suction hose up to the pump and the pump does not have to build up a new column of water every time it is started up. The check valve 5 should therefore be arranged as close as possible to the cup disk 2b.
On the opposite cup disk 2a, a floating ball 6 is connected to the intake filter via a detachable fastening 8. The floating ball ensures that the water is sucked in just below the water surface. This is where the cleanest water in the container is, which is free of fatty or slimy substances that form as a floating layer in the upper area of the rainwater reservoir.
The floating ball allows the base of the filter to rise and fall with the water level. By using a floating ball, which is attached to a detachable fastening at a specified distance A from the intake filter, suction from the area of the floating cover is avoided, as is suction from the bottom sediment, which may contain sand and other heavy particles that can hinder the functioning of the rainwater harvesting system.
It is advantageous if the pump suction line 4 is provided with an extension pipe 7 to which the cup disks 2a, b are firmly anchored. This gives the construction a high level of stability and ensures the distance B to the ground in the event of low water levels. The distance B defines the distance between the ground of the rainwater utilization system and the center of the suction openings 8, which are arranged in the axial direction in the extension pipe 7.
Figure 2 shows the overall relationship between the individual components of the rainwater utilization system in a basic diagram. The filter part 1 has a connection to the floating ball 6 at one end and a connection to the check valve 5 at the other end, which is connected to the pump suction line 4. The pump suction line 4 is led out of the rainwater collection tank 9 and is guided through a wall opening 10 to the consumption points inside the house.
A rainwater supply line 11 also flows into the rainwater collection tank 9, here at the lower end in the area of the bottom part of the rainwater tank 9, with a whirlpool-free feed opening 12. In the upper area of the rainwater collection tank 9 there is an overflow 13 and an inspection opening 14 through which cleaning work can also be carried out if necessary.
With the suction filter according to the invention, particles that are larger than 0.23 mm are filtered out of the suction area of the pump. This significantly reduces pump wear and contamination of the valves in the suction and pressure areas. The operational reliability of the entire rainwater utilization system is thus absolutely improved.
