Description
.Process for the chemical cleaning of textiles with organic solvents For the purpose of dry cleaning textiles, especially when they are dirty Wedge pieces, these are included in specially developed washing machines organic solvents washed with mechanical agitation. As organic Solvents are z. B. gasoline, heavy benzene or chlorinated hydrocarbons such as perchlorethylene, trichlorethylene and carbon tetrachloride are used. These Solvents remove the greasy impurities during washing and keep them in suspension. The so laden with dirt solvent can -by Separators are cleaned. Today these used solvents are mostly used cleaned by filtering through a precoat filter and thus usable again made. The precoat filters act in such a way that bodies with a high adsorptive capacity, like kieselguhr or. Fuller's earth, on a solid, porous body, like cotton fabric or close-meshed wire screens, can be applied as a covering by precoating. By The contaminated solvents are then passed through this coating under pressure. The impurities contained in the solvent are adsorbed by the covering, and the solvent flows off clear and ready for use again. .
It is known that the organic solvents by the repeated Used in dry cleaning, accept an acidic reaction. These Acidification is caused by the dirt and sweat, which has an acidic reaction own. In addition, the most common chlorinated hydrocarbons by decomposition phenomena that occur with the elimination of hydrogen chloride, causing an even stronger acidic reaction of the solvent.
The acidic reaction of the solvent is with dry cleaning disadvantageous. The cleaning effect is reduced, the filter passability is impaired, and there can be signs of corrosion on the metal parts of the equipment used enter.
Attempts have therefore been made to neutralize the acid in the solvent. The real petrol soaps used as cleaning enhancers in dry cleaning, consisting of partially neutralized fatty acids, act on the solvent neutralizing, with equivalent amounts of free fatty acids being produced by the solvent be solved. However, these real petrol soaps have proven themselves when working with precoat filters proved to be unsuitable because they cannot be filtered. You are therefore through Replaced cleaning booster based on synthetic, active washing substances which mostly also have a higher cleaning effect, but no neutralizing Have properties.
Attempts have also been made to reduce the acids in the solvent by means of additives of such alkaline reacting bodies to neutralize those in the solvent are soluble, such as ammonia or pyridine. Such a neutralization must, however Monitored analytically for solvents with a completely neutral response to get.
It has now surprisingly been found that an ongoing neutralization of the solvent achieved thereby in a simple manner without analytical monitoring can be that one in the precoat filter when precoating adsorption bodies such alkalis or alkaline reacting salts are washed up with those in the organic Solvents are insoluble. They constantly neutralize the solvent Passes through the filter without excess alkali being absorbed by the solvent will. It is particularly advantageous to have such alkaline substances use, which form gaseous reaction products when neutralized, as these loosen up the covering and make it more porous. This means that the covering remains usable for a longer period of time. Such alkali salts can also be used in. use anhydrous state, the water able to bind with the formation of crystal salts, whereby the always present low water content is kept within limits.
As neutralizing agents that meet these requirements are To mention soda, phosphates and silicates.
The increased by the continuous neutralization of the solvent The cleaning effect can be further enhanced by using such neutralizing agents used, which also contain bound active oxygen. Then kick it During the filtering process, small amounts of active oxygen are continuously fed into which: Water-based or, better, practically never water-free solvents over and work bleaching on items that have already been detached and also on items that have not yet been cleaned detached dirt. The molar oxygen that forms also takes care of one mechanical loosening of the filter lining, which means that it can be used for longer.
Als sauerstoffhaltige Neutralisationsmittel sind geeignet: Natriumperkarbonat, Natriumperborat, Natriumpersilikat und Natriumperphosphat. Beispiele i. Suitable neutralizing agents containing oxygen are: sodium percarbonate, Sodium perborate, sodium persilicate and sodium perphosphate. Examples i. The bag filter with a 10 m2 filter surface of a petrol cleaning system is mixed with an intimate mixture from q. kg of diatomite and 1 kg of calcined soda washed ashore by circulating with gasoline. The gasoline, which has already been repeatedly used for cleaning, originally showed when it was shaken out with water a clearly acidic reaction and exhibits after running through the alluvial However, filter a pH of around 8. Dirtier after cleaning a lot Cloakroom items of 50 kg with permanent interposition of the filter will be added in each case an intimate mixture of 400 g of kieselguhr and zoo g of calcined soda washed ashore. After cleaning a total of around 500 kg of dirty cloakroom items, this has to be done Turn the filter over when it has been cleaned. The solvent is used together with the used filter mass redestillxert.
a. The sieve filter of a perchlorethylene cleaning system with io m2 The filter surface is filled with an intimate mixture of 3.6 kg of diatomaceous earth and qoo g of sodium percarbonate washed ashore. The perchlorethylene used repeatedly for cleaning showed has a pH value of about 5 and has after passing through the thus washed ashore filter a pH of about B. Traces of active oxygen can be found in the solvent to be established.
