Minima-Thermometer als Einschlußthermometer werden im technischen Bereich(Labor usw.)verwendet. Die Wirkungsweise ist folgendermaßen: daß sich in der Kapillare,und zwar innerhalb der Anzeigeflüssigkeit , ein Glasstift(Schwimmer) befindet,der beim Zurückweichen der Flüssigkeit,also bei Temperaturrückgang, durch die Oberflächenspannung der Fadenkuppe(Meniskus) mitgezogen wird,beim Ansteigen dagegen liegen bleibt. Demzufolge zeigt der Glasstift mit seinem dem Füllgefäß abgewandten Ende stets den innerhalb eines bestimmten Zeitraumes eingetretenen Temperatur-Tiefstand an.Zur Neueinstellung wird das Thermometer auf den Kopf gestellt, der Schwimmer gleitet dann auf Grund seiner eigenen Schwere innerhalb des Flüssigkeitsfadens bis an die Oberflächenhaut der Fadenkuppe heran.Minima thermometers as enclosed thermometers are used in technical areas (laboratory, etc.).
