Stand der Technik: Zur Zeit übliche elektronische Mess-, Steuer- und Regelschaltungen in Verbindung mit einem Computer werden entweder innerhalb des Gehäuses in den jeweils vorhandenen Busslot (ISA, VESA, PCI, EISA usw.) gesteckt oder außerhalb des Computers an der Rückfront an eine vorhandene Schnittstelle angeschlossen. Daher ist das Wechseln oder Erweitern der jeweils benutzten Schaltung ein Problem, da entweder der Computer geöffnet werden oder der Computer von der Rückseite her erreichbar sein muß, was Zeit kostet und im ersten Fall nur von einem Fachmann getätigt werden sollte. Beide zur Zeit erhältlichen Alternativen benötigen Werkzeug zur Änderung der gerade aktuellen Schaltung. Der Zustand der Messplatinen kann nicht optisch erfaßt werden, da die Schaltungen nicht oder nur schlecht zu sehen sind. Das Wechseln der Schaltungen soll auch Laien keine Probleme bereiten und so wenig Zeit wie möglich beanspruchen, ohne in den Computer eingreifen zu müssen. Weiterhin soll das komplette System höchst flexibel sein, das heißt, sein Interface muß über die Steckerleiste mit allen Karten kommunizieren können.
Alle Zustände der Schaltung sollen an der Computervorderseite optisch erfassbar sein.
