Das Prinzip der magnetischen Kalkwandlung beruht auf einem Magnetfeld,dessen Feldlinienquer zum Wasserweg verlaufen (Lorenzkraft,Trennung von Kat- und Anionen) Metallische Gehäuse und Gehäuseteile lenken die Feldlinien ab, so daß die Funktion -Feldlinien quer zum Wasserweg- geschwächt oder außer Kraft gesetzt wird.Desweiteren werden Kupferrohre verwendet,die:in der Spannungsreihe der Metalle über Zink (verzinkte Rohre) liegen und das als Minuspol wirkende Zink wird bei der elektrochemischen Korrosion zerstört. Die im Praxisfall verwendeten Messingübergänge sind von ihrer Länge her zu kurz,um die galvanischen Ströme abzubauen. Eine Erdung mit Geräteüberbrückung durfte nicht vergessen werden. Zudem arbeiten herkömmliche magnetische Kalkwandler bei einem Betriebsdruck von 5 Bar wegen der hohen Abdriftgeschwindigkeit der Ionen.Ist der Leitungsdruck geringer,so verlieren die Ionen ihre Geschwindigkeit und werden von einem kurzen Magnetfeld nicht immer erfaßt.Dementsprechend verringert sich auch die Leistung der KalkwandlerThe principle of magnetic lime conversion is based on a magnetic field whose field lines run across the water path (Lorenz force, separation of cations and anions).
