- Self-pressing container with two-wing emptying door and double chamber -

In order to reduce transport costs, voluminous materials, e.g. cardboard, paper, foil, etc. are compressed in self-press containers (\/pressed).

These materials are usually collected in a self-press container, compacted and then taken to a sorting facility using an appropriate disposal vehicle (e.g. roll-off tipper in accordance with DIN 30722) or are collected and compacted separately in several self-press containers.

The innovation described below was developed to collect and compact several fractions in one self-press container and to ensure problem-free emptying.

The machine is shown in its main parts in a longitudinal section with an associated top view (Fig. 1). In the left-hand container area there is a horizontally guided, hydraulically driven pressing body, which moves back and forth with its pressing surface between the end positions (1a) and (1b). A vertical partition wall (Θ) firmly connected to the pressing body dips into a hollow wall (9) fixed to the container during the pressing stroke.

This has a vertical hinge (1G) at its rear end to which the pendulum wall (3) is movably hinged. This also has a hinge (11) at its rear end with the pendulum flaps (5a) on the right and (5b) on the left as well as the stop (4).

When the emptying doors are closed (5a = right and 5b = left) the stop (4) limits the deflection of the pendulum wall (3).

When the container is loaded, material fed into the filling opening (7a) enters the pressing chamber (A), while material fed into (7b) enters the pressing chamber (B). Depending on the amount filled in, the pendulum wall (3), which acts as a partition, automatically assumes a position that deviates more or less from the center line, with the maximum deflection being limited by the stop (4).

To empty the chamber, it is advisable to empty the chamber with the largest volume first. This can be seen from the position of the stop (4). The corresponding emptying door (e.g. 6b) is opened, which frees the pendulum flap (5b) (Fig. 2).

The container is then tilted by the removal vehicle and the chamber (B) is emptied. The other chamber is then emptied in a similar way (Fig. 3).
