Description
The increasing destruction of natural biotopes by transport routes, residential areas and areas used intensively for agriculture makes the creation of near-natural habitats for plant and animal species ever more urgent. In order to be able to create such biotopes in residential areas or landscapes, so-called planting stones or planting rings have been developed, which consist of specially shaped concrete elements with a continuous planting space.
However, their nature and weight as well as the geometry of these concrete elements only allow for a limited range of applications in terms of the variety of biotopes. Even planting stones with a more natural appearance and improved water balance are not suitable, for example, for the creation of near-natural rock areas that provide essential habitats for dwarf plants and special insect species.
Natural replicas of substitute reserves made of solid rock, such as sandstone sediments, are expensive and involve high resource consumption. The weight of the solid rock alone makes it difficult to handle when creating biotopes. In the case of roof gardens, there are also static problems. The aim was to counteract the handling and weight problems by using sandstone slabs, but the disadvantage was that the sandstone slabs have a short lifespan due to weathering and are at risk of being unstable in terms of position in rock biotopes. Using solid rock blocks for such substitute habitats is even more complex, and in the absence of water storage, the settlement of plant and animal species is generally limited.
A disadvantage of biotopes made of solid rock blocks, regardless of the type of rock, is their inertia towards rapid temperature changes, so that extreme biotope properties cannot be achieved.
The invention is based on the problem of developing a biotope stone with a natural appearance that is equally suitable for dry stone walls and the most diverse types of replacement biotopes, is easy to handle, weather-resistant and stable in position, and is climate-regulating and follows rapid temperature changes.

This problem is solved with the measures of claim 1. With the invention, in the specified application, it is achieved that the biotope stone ensures high positional stability and easy handling due to the shape of the concrete body. The weather resistance of easily erodible or porous natural stone slabs is increased many times over by the concrete body.
Simply by varying the length of the walkway, natural rock replicas with a variety of niches, rock cornices, galleries and joints are possible, so that extreme habitats can be created for unusual plant and animal species. Depending on the size and design, the biotope stone can be used to build sunken gardens, sunken paths, heavy slope reinforcements and retaining walls, raised gardens and free-standing dry stone walls.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2 to 5. The thin-walled design of the carrier plate and the web takes temperature changes into account and the reinforcement takes the requirements of static load-bearing capacity into account.
The sealing of the exposed surface of the T-shaped or double-T-shaped concrete body according to claim 3 is of significant importance for the water balance in the biotope. The reduction in water absorption by the concrete body improves root formation in the immediate vicinity of the concrete body.
The design of the free end of the T-shaped concrete body according to claim 4 serves on the one hand to secure the position of biotope stones arranged one above the other and on the other hand to anchor them in the ground.
The through hole arranged in the web according to claim 5 serves to additionally anchor the biotope stone in the soil by rooting it. On the other hand, this improves the handling of the biotope stone.
Es zeigen:An embodiment of the invention is explained using Figures 1 to 4. They show:
Figure 1 shows a biotope stone with a T-shaped concrete body in top view, Figure 2 shows a biotope stone with a T-shaped concrete body in side view, Figure 3 shows a biotope stone with a double-T-shaped concrete body in top view, Figure 4 shows two biotope stones with a double-T-shaped concrete body arranged one above the other in side view.
The biotope stone is manufactured in a regionally typical material composition depending on the location of use or in the appropriate dimensions when creating a biotope or designing a landscape. It essentially consists of a natural stone slab 4 and a concrete body. The one-piece concrete body consists of a web 2 and a support plate 1, which can have a rectangular, square or polygonal shape depending on the natural stone slab 4.
In the example, natural stone slab 4 and carrier plate 1 have a rectangular shape. The cross section of carrier plate 1 is a shifted rectangle, the rear surface of which with web 2 is shifted vertically upwards compared to natural stone slab 4. In the T-shaped concrete body, the free end of web 2 consists of a hinge-like anchor 6 that is angled downwards. This shape of the T-shaped or double-T-shaped concrete body guarantees a high level of positional stability in the composite (Figure 4) or in the ground and enables water to be guided over the natural stone slabs without affecting the structural stability.
The T-shaped and double-T-shaped concrete body is thin-walled and has reinforcement 5. In the web 2 there is a weight-reducing through hole 7, which also serves to improve handling and additionally secure the position in the ground by rooting.
The exposed surface of the concrete body is sealed, which is important for the water balance and root formation in the biotope.
Metal anchors 3 are arranged on one side of the natural stone slab 4, which are anchored to the reinforcement 5 of the concrete body during the production of the biotope stone and thus ensure a firm and permanent connection between the natural stone slab 4 and the concrete body.
In a corresponding form, the natural stone slab 4 and the concrete body are connected to each other by pouring or tamping the concrete.
Compaction and moisture removal create a concrete body with low porosity, whereby heavy or ash concrete can be used as the material. The natural stone slab 4, which has a rough surface, can also consist of porous natural stone, since it is weather-resistant in combination with the concrete body according to the invention. This makes the biotope stone a versatile, cost-effective and natural (biotope-appropriate) design element with characteristics that are typical for the location or appropriate for a monument.
