The innovation refers to the generic term of
Protection claim 1 to a large umbrella, for example for use as a garden or market umbrella, with a two-part sliding sleeve provided with slots in the peripheral area via pins at its free,
Angle struts suspended at flattened ends.

Umbrellas designed in this way are already known from DE-PS 37 29 589 with regard to their feature of two-part sliding sleeves; however, the design described there only allows the use of an extremely small number of angle struts due to its relatively wide bearing areas. A larger number of struts can be attached to the umbrella design known from DE-PS 33 46 672, but this has the disadvantage that, particularly when the angle struts are made of plastic, fatigue fracture can easily occur after a while at the transition points from the strut head to the respective flattening of the free strut ends.

The aim of this innovation is to eliminate this last-mentioned disadvantage in known screen systems in a simple and convincing way.

The means for solving this problem are laid down in claim 1; the sub-claim contains a sensible further development or elaboration of the innovative solution concept.

An example of the innovation is also illustrated in the drawing in conjunction with the following description.

The sliding sleeve 1 shown in Fig. 1, guided on the umbrella pole "ST", consists in its known basic structure of the flange la and the head plate Ib and the radial slots Id arranged in both elements for the movement of the angle struts 2, which with their two-sided bearing pins 2b at their free flattened ends 2a in the bearing shells Ic of

What is new and useful for solving the problem posed by the innovation in this known basic system is that in the transition area "Ü" between the angle strut and flattening 2a, reinforcing ribs 3 are arranged on both sides of the latter and the radial slots Id in flange la and head plate Ib are provided with outward-directed expansions Ie corresponding to the rib shape.

In terms of the structural design, it is sensible in terms of detail if each of the reinforcing ribs 3 extends from the strut head 2c with its head part 3b to approximately the respective bearing pin 2b of the angle strut 2 and runs converging in its width "B" and height "H" from its foot part 3a • to the head part 3b. The reinforcement now carried out on the angle struts thereby eliminates the disadvantages of the previously known designs described at the beginning in a convincingly simple way.
