Halter der vorstehenden Art sind insbesondere als Christbaumständer in nahezu allen Haushalten vorhanden und deshalb bekannt. Das bedingt entweder ein hohes Gewicht des Fußes des Christbaumständers oder aber eine große Aufstandsfläche. Beides macht den Christbaumständer jedoch unerwünscht teuer, so daß sehr häufig zu kleine oder zu leichte Christbaumständer benutzt werden und zur Weihnachtszeit immer wieder von Zimmerbränden zu hören ist, welche durch umgekippte Christbäume verursacht wurden. Bei dem neuerungsgemäßen Halter handelt es sich um einen Adapter, der es ermöglicht, einen Christbaum in einen Sonnenschirmständer einzusetzen. Da der neuerungsgemäße Halter keinen für sich allein standfähigen Fuß benötigt, ist er sehr kostengünstig herstellbar.
