Linoleum floor tile

The invention relates to a floor tile made of linoleum.

Rectangular linoleum floor tiles are well known. The dimensional stability of these well-known floor tiles is not always satisfactory, especially when there are fluctuations in humidity. In addition, errors when laying the floor tiles easily add up and lead to gaps and structural deviations in the finished floor covering.

The object of the invention is to develop a linoleum floor tile in such a way that precise installation by laymen is possible and changes in shape and shifts between the individual floor tiles are avoided.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a linoleum floor tile by at least one tongue-shaped edge attachment at one point on the edge and at least one edge recess formed in a form-fitting manner with respect to the edge attachment at another point on the edge.

The advantage of the invention lies in the fact that when laying adjacent tiles, a positive connection is necessarily created when the edge recess and edge attachment of the adjacent tiles interlock. This is accompanied by a precise alignment of the tiles, which prevents the formation of larger gaps caused by laying.

The floor tiles are particularly preferably designed so that the edge attachment and the edge recess are opposite each other. This makes it easy to line up the tiles to be laid precisely, thus allowing the tiles to be precisely aligned and creating the floor covering in a time-saving manner.

The preferred trapezoidal design of the edge attachment and edge recess makes it much easier to lay the floor tiles flush, as the edge attachment and edge recess of the adjacent tiles are brought into engagement with one another during laying. As soon as the tiles are pressed against one another, the trapezoidal design of the edge attachment and edge recess inevitably leads to the tiles being flush, as the corresponding side edges of the edge recess and edge attachment run parallel to one another, thereby aligning the floor tiles against one another.

The floor tiles are particularly preferably designed so that their undersides are coated with adhesive. This coating allows the floor tiles to be laid easily by laymen without the risk of reducing the quality of the finished floor covering by using an incorrect or irregular amount of adhesive and thus making repairs necessary soon. The adhesive used according to the invention allows floating bonding so that the tiles can shift when they expand due to heat.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the floor tile, the adhesive is provided with a removable cover layer. This cover layer makes it possible to transport the floor tiles in a simple manner. In particular, it is possible to pack several tiles in one packaging unit without the risk of the floor tiles sticking to one another at this point.

To lay the floor tiles, the adhesive can be easily exposed by peeling off the top layer.

Advantageous developments of the invention are characterized by the features of the subclaims.

In the following, an embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. They show:

Figure 1 shows a top view of a floor tile 1. This floor tile 1 has an essentially rectangular base. A trapezoidal edge projection 3 is arranged in the middle of one side of the floor tile 1. On the opposite side of the floor tile 1, an edge recess 5, also complementary to the trapezoidal shape, is formed, which is in a form-fitting manner with the edge projection 3 and, when the floor tiles are laid, automatically aligns the floor tiles with one another and creates a mechanical connection between them.

Figure 2 shows a side view of the floor tile 1 with edge attachment 3 and edge recess 5. On the underside of the floor tile 1 there is a coating 7 made of adhesive. This coating 7 extends over the entire underside of the floor tile including edge attachment 3. The coating 7 is completely covered by an easily removable cover layer 9. This ensures that a suitable adhesive in the correct dosage is used to lay the floor tiles.

Figure 3 shows a top view of a floor covering made up of several rectangular floor tiles 1. The floor tiles 1 form individual rows which are arranged next to one another, with each row being offset by about half the length of the floor tile compared to the adjacent row. Within the rows, the floor tiles 1 are arranged in such a way that the trapezoidal edge projection 3 and the trapezoidal edge recess 5 of adjacent tiles engage with one another in a form-fitting manner and prevent the floor tiles from slipping against one another.

Linoleum floor tile, characterized by at least one tongue-shaped edge projection (3) at one point on the edge and at least one edge recess (5) formed in a form-fitting manner with the edge projection (3) at another point on the edge. 2. Floor tile according to claim 1, characterized in that the edge projection (3) and the edge recess (5) are arranged on opposite edge sections. 3. Floor tile according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the edge projection (3) and edge recess (5) are designed to fit into one another in a dovetail shape. 4. Floor tile according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the edge projection (3) and edge recess (5) are trapezoidal in shape so as to fit into one another. 5. Floor tile according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the underside of the floor tile (1) is coated with adhesive (7). 6. Floor tile according to claim 5, characterized in that the adhesive (7) is covered with a removable cover layer.
