"Kabelverteilerschränke", die die Abzweigungen von z.B. in einer Straße unter der Straßen decke verlegten Kabel für Wohn- und Geschäftshäuser, Werkstätten u. dgl. aufnehmen, müssen mit einer ein- oder zweiflügeligen Tür versehen sein, um die im Innenraum montierten Kabelanschlüsse und Sicherungen vor Fremdeinwirkungen zu schützen, gegen unbeabsichtigte und unbefugte Berührung abzuschirmen und um Austausch- oder Reparaturarbeiten durchführen zu können. Um den Fußgänger- und Fahrzeugverkehr nicht mehr als notwendig zu behindern, werden diese Kabelverteilerschränke bevorzugt dicht an Hauswänden, Mauern oder Zäunen aufgestellt, und deshalb müssen die Türen auf der Vorderseite angebracht sein.
