Intermediate floor that can be used between individual magazine hives within a beehive to control pests.
Stand der derzeitigen TechnikState of the art technology
The intermediate floor serves to prevent the population of pests within a beehive and thus to protect and enable the normal development of the bee colony living in the hive. Up to now, the bee colonies regularly attacked by the pests have been treated chemically in order to achieve normal development of the colony and optimise honey yield. Mechanical control of the pest in question in the manner of the intermediate floor described has not been practiced up to now.
Problemproblem
The problem solved by the above-mentioned intermediate floor is to prevent the pest from reaching the open brood located in the lower part of the hive, multiplying there and infecting the entire bee colony during its development in the spring.
Die Ausgestaltung des ZwischenbodensThe design of the intermediate floor
The intermediate floor has external dimensions of 50cm x 55cm x 3cm. In both the upper and lower sections, a bee-impermeable but mite-permeable plastic grid is embedded between a 10cm thick wooden frame.
A drawer (external dimensions 36.5cm x 36.5cm x 1 cm) is inserted between the upper and lower sections, which consists of a 3cm wide wooden frame and a special mite-proof gauze (permeability 0.5mm) enclosed in it. The drawer can be pulled out to the back and is therefore easy to clean of any pests. A loop is attached to the front to make it easier to pull the drawer out. A flight path is embedded in the front part of the intermediate floor, through which the bees can get into the hive (see the attached drawings for a better illustration).
