Transition seal For movable weir locks, sluice gates
or similar structures used to hold water against fixed structures
Wall stops or seal against a second closure body, result in
Transition from one seal line to another, the first in any
It cuts an angle or is skewed to it, often making it constructive
Difficulties that a change in the sealing levels must be made.
The sealing planes are then at a right or any other angle to one another
inclined. In these cases a single sealing frame cannot be arranged
and the transition points of the seal usually have leaks,
whereby water loss and freezing occur during frost, which lead to operational disruptions
or lead to a complete shutdown. These disadvantages work
all the more, the larger the dimensions of the weir and the larger the through
Changes in temperature, subsidence or other deformations caused by other influences
the fixed or moving parts of the structure.
zweiten beweglichen Verschlußkörper befindliche, erhalten in ihrer Oberfläche, in
According to the invention, these disadvantages are eliminated in that
between the two sealing levels a fillet in the form of a certain length
a circular or otherwise curved cylindrical shell is inserted; the
runs tangentially to the two sealing planes. Both sealing strips, both
those on the movable closure body as well as those on the fixed structure or on one
second movable closure body located, preserved in its surface, in
which the seal takes place, roughly the same shape, whereby
the
one bar is concave and the other is correspondingly convexly curved. The one bar
is made of hard material, e.g. B. steel or cast iron, while the other
made of a softer but elastic material, e.g. B. rubber. To the
The softer, elastic material is used to reinforce the sealing effect
existing sealing strip a shape, such that it is pretensioned when
it hugs the bar made of the harder material. By yourself
the sealing strip made of the soft, elastic material through the
Water pressure and the possible pre-tensioning of the hard sealing strip completely
hugs, the seal takes place on the transition length in both planes. There
the sealing surface in this transition area is wider than in the other sealing areas,
it can happen that the water pressure and any preload are not sufficient to
the specific sealing pressure required to achieve perfect tightness
to ensure. This difficulty is resolved by looking at one of the sealing surfaces

In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown,
namely in Fig. i as an application example, the transition seal for a lock gate
shown with an upper baffle, in which the side seals ra in one to the retaining wall
of the gate parallel plane, while the upper longitudinal seal b, which is the seal
between the lock gate and the diving, vand establishes, in their middle area
d-d against a plane that is perpendicular to the gate's retaining wall and horizontal in the room
should write. From the corners e, the seal can still be found e-c for a short distance
against the vertical plane instead. From c to d is the transition area with the fillet
inserted between vertical and horizontal sealing plane according to the invention.
Fig.2. zeigt in schematischer axonometrischer Darstellung die beiden,

Between the points g1 and 92 the circular cylindrical shell ö-ooo is inserted for the purpose of rounding, to which the two planes I and II run tangentially. In Fig. 3 a to 3 c, the sections through the sealing construction are on the points marked in Fig. 2 with S1, S2 and S3 for the case that the strip with the convexly curved sealing surface is attached to the movable closure body and consists of rubber or a similarly behaving material; while the strip firmly connected to the concrete structure is made of steel The sealing bead m is provided here on the rubber strip.
