Description
Method for grinding flat glass panes The invention relates to a process for grinding flat glass panes which are then polished should.
For some time now, the optical industry has gone over to Prepare lenses, prisms, etc. with diamond-tipped grinding tools with a coarse grain size, d. H. to be removed. This is then followed by several work steps in the usual Way finely sanded with loose abrasives, d. H. to a depth of robbery below 3.7, µ worked, and finally polished. The transfer of grinding with Diamond-studded grinding tools for the processing of larger glass surfaces has made great difficulties so far, as such tools with large diameter must be very precisely aligned. Even slight deviations from the plane of rotation Otherwise lead to uneven depths of robbery, so that a subsequent economic Polishing is no longer possible. Besides, the making of tools is great Diameter, which are occupied with hard abrasives, although for smaller tools possible, but causes considerable difficulties with large tools. Particularly It is difficult to fill such grinding tools and mix abrasives more finely Grit. However, recently such grinding tools have become more durable Quality are produced, has been found according to the invention that you can such Abrasive tools can also be used for processing large glass surfaces.
According to the invention, a method for grinding flat glass panes, which are then polished, suggested "that. Characterized is, that glass surface parts of one dimension in which the ratio of thickness to greatest linear surface extension is at least 1: 6o, with one or more rotating ones Grinding tools are sharpened in a firm bond with diamond, corundum Od. Like. Abrasives of similar hardness are occupied. The specified ratio from I: 6o means, for example, that those disks are meant whose one The linear expansion is sixty times the thickness, i.e. with a thickness of 5 mm at least 30 cm. The grain size of the abrasive is expediently chosen so that the surface roughness of the cut is no more than 3.7 µ. If necessary, the sanding with a liquid abrasives such as oil, petroleum or water. After grinding according to the method according to the invention, an aftertreatment is preferably carried out in known way with loose, z. B. slurried abrasives.
It is particularly suitable to carry out the method according to the invention a known device with one or more rotating grinding tools, those with diamond, corundum or similar abrasives of similar hardness in a firm bond are occupied. The grinding tools are arranged one behind the other, that their axes lie in a common plane in the feed direction of the workpiece. If necessary, the grinding tools can also be offset in a known manner arrange opposite to the direction of advance. Another, also known per se It is possible to implement the grinding tools on the arms of a carrier mounted on a concentric to the grinding tools Central shaft is arranged. The whole arrangement is preferably set in rotation.
The advance of the glass to be ground is the grain of the Abrasive adapted to the tool.
