Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung, einen Adapter, zum Anschluß von handelsüblichen Bildschirmen aus dem Personalcomputerbereich (e.B. IBM - Kompatible) an Personalcomputer der Firma Apple, mit deren Hilfe ein Betreiben dieser Monitore an diesen Computern ermöglicht wird.
Der an Computern der Firma Apple ("Macintosh" Baureihe) verwendete Monitorsteckverbinder entspricht nicht dem Industriestandard und die Anschlußbelegung des Bildschirmanschlusses ist herstellerspezifisch. Die Firma Apple Computer bietet zum Betreiben an ihren Computern der "Macintosh" Baureihe unterschiedliche Monitore an, die sich in der Größe des Bildschirms, der Anzahl der darstellbaren Bildpunkte, der Bildu/iederholfrequenz und der horizontalen Ablenkfrequenz unterscheiden.

Dies wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß mit der Vorrichtung (Adapter / Adapterkabel) eine Anpassung der Steckverbinder und der Verdrahtung der Monitorsignale auf die weit verbreiteten Standards vorgenommen wird. Darüberhinaus wird durch eine einstellbare Beschaltung am Steckverbinder erreicht, daß sogenannte Mehrfrequenzmonitore durch Änderung der Beschaltung mit verschiedenen Auflösungen betrieben werden können. Mit der Vorrichtung können alle mit der eingeführten Kodierweise denkbaren Beschaltungen der "Sense Pins" eingestellt werden, auch solche, die bislang nicht genutzt werden.
