hat einen Bildschirm;
zusammen;
- c) jedes Bildelement weist zumindest ein Leuchtmittel auf;
The invention relates to a screen device, in particular large screen device, for the display of images, having the following features: - a) the display device has a screen;
- b) the screen is composed of a plurality of picture elements;
- c) each picture element has at least one light source;
- d) the picture elements ( 6 ) are on a variety of flexible strands ( 2 . 3 . 4 ), which are stretched between straps.
Beispiele solcher Großbildschirmgeräte sind der US 5,900,850 A1 , EP 0 709 818 A1 , US 2003/0058191 A1 , DE 103 94 278 T5 , US 2004/0233125 A1 und US 2003/0222893 A1 zu
entnehmen.
For the display of images in outdoor areas large-screen devices are known which have a screen which is composed of a plurality of individual Bildelemen te, which are each provided with at least one light source. Examples of such large-screen devices are the US 5,900,850 A1 . EP 0 709 818 A1 . US 2003/0058191 A1 . DE 103 94 278 T5 . US 2004/0233125 A1 and US 2003/0222893 A1 refer to. In this case, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are predominantly used as light-emitting means, with at least three, and sometimes also four, LEDs emitting different colors being grouped per pixel as a rule. Notably, a red, a green and a blue LED are combined to form an LED unit. In this case, a picture element also have a plurality of such LED units.
The
screen devices
have at least one electronic image signal processing device
which provides an input interface for the input of image signals
from an image signal source, such as a video camera or
a DVD or a PC. The picture signals can already be found in the picture signal source
be worked up so that provided for a picture element
Picture signals are assembled into an image signal unit, the
the necessary information for
the control of a picture element for the purpose of representing a particular color
have, for example in the form of an RGB signal. Unless the
incoming image signals are not yet processed in this form,
the image signal processing device has one or more conversion devices
on, in which the image signals are converted into image signal units.
In each case, a certain number of image signal units become
a color data packet lined up and summarized. The color data packets are
then sequentially and spaced fed into serial image data buses,
wherein each one group of picture elements are connected via an image data bus.
Each color data packet represents
a specific picture.
Around
To enable fast image processing is the screen
divided into several, usually a plurality of picture element groups,
each connected by means of an image data bus. In the image signal processing device
the picture signal units become corresponding to the number of picture element groups
split and then formatted into color data packages.
The picture elements each have a picture element controller, by means of which the picture elements receive color data packets, identify the picture signal unit intended for the respective picture element and use them to display the color and send the color data packet to the next picture element. In order to enable identification of the image signal unit intended for the respective picture element, each picture signal unit is additionally provided with a picture element-specific address (cf. DE 103 94 278 T5 ). The pixel controller is programmed to read only that image signal unit which has an address provided for the respective pixel.
US 2003/0058191 A1 ).
verspannt. Solche Bildschirmgeräte
haben geringe Windangriffsflächen
und lassen sich für
den Transport zusammenrollen oder -falten.The known large-screen devices are usually designed as rigid structures and thus relatively difficult (see. US 2003/0058191 A1 ). Therefore, they can not be adapted to architectural or other requirements. In order to avoid this disadvantage, large-screen devices have been developed in which the picture elements are attached to flexible strands, for example straps or strips ( US 5,900,850 A1 ; EP 0 709 818 A1 . 7B ). The strands are braced between frame-like straps. Such VDUs have low windage surfaces and can be rolled up or folded for transport.
Also
these prior art screens still have a relatively high
Weight and provide a despite the free spaces between the strands
not insignificant wind attack surface. In addition, the power supply must be
over to the picture elements
special power cables with an insulating sheath provided
copper wires
respectively. These copper wires
have a relatively high weight because they are low voltage
to supply the usually designed as LEDs bulbs - in the
Rule 12V or 24V - a large cross section
to disposal
have to ask.
Of the
Invention is based on the object, the holder for the picture elements
preferably
simple and in particular to be designed so that they are at high
Strength has a low weight and nevertheless one possible
high transparency and thus a small windage surface offers.
This object is achieved in that the picture elements on wires and / or wire ropes, preferably on a wire net of intersecting wires and / or wire ropes, are fixed, wherein the wire mesh expediently consists of vertical and horizontal wires or wire ropes. A particularly stable attachment of the picture elements results when the picture elements are attached to crossing points of the wires or wire ropes. The wires or wire ropes have a high strength with small diameter and weight. They are visually hardly noticeable and have a low windage surface. The screen also hardly disturbs the view through windows when it is stretched over a window front. In addition, the screen can be flexibly adapted to the respective architectural conditions, for example, be formed in a curved shape. In addition, assembly and replacement of individual parts are simple and straightforward. In addition, the space required for transport is low.
Die
Drähte
bzw. Drahtseile können,
wenn sie elektrisch leitfähig,
beispielsweise als Stahldrähte bzw.
Stahldrahtseile ausgebildet sind, zur Übertragung des elektrischen
Stroms zu den Bildelementen verwendet werden. In diesem Fall werden
die Drähte bzw.
Drahtseile an eine Niedervolt-Stromquelle angeschlossen. Die Bildelemente werden
dann mit den Drähten
bzw.
The
wires
or wire ropes,
if they are electrically conductive,
For example, as steel wires or
Steel wire ropes are formed, for transmitting the electrical
Electricity can be used to the picture elements. In this case will be
the wires or
Wire cables connected to a low voltage power source. The picture elements become
then with the wires
or wire cables connected in such a way that they are connected to electricity
from the wires
or wire cables are supplied. It is understood that the wires or
Wire ropes must be electrically isolated from each other, in particular
at the crossroads. This type of power management accounts for separate
Power cable. It is important to take into account
that the low voltage leads to high currents and thereby a power cable
a big cross section
must have, so it has a corresponding weight. It understands
itself that by eliminating separate power cables assembly and
Repair is much easier and saved material
becomes.
For the inventive training
of the display device
it does not matter which lamps are used. For use
on the big screens
but are particularly light emitting diodes, where it is appropriate
that each pixel at least three LEDs with different
Color emissions, preferably red, green and blue, have. With
such groups of LEDs can
almost all
Colors are generated by controlling their brightness.
In

Bildausschnittkontroller 18, 19, 20 an,
(z.B. 720 × 36).In 2 is the construction of a to screen 1 associated image signal processing device 15 related to the to the individual picture elements 6 belonging picture element controllers Darge provides. The image signal processing device has an input interface 16 in the form of a DVI, LVDS, TTL or even VGA video interface to which a video source 17 , for example a PC, is connected. To the input interface 16 close up image section controller 18 . 19 . 20 on, with which the entire picture is divided into partial pictures. The image detail controller 18 . 19 . 20 are near the video source 17 to ensure a high data transfer rate between the two. The one of the image section controllers 18 . 19 . 20 produced image section has a typical pixel resolution of 192 × 144 pixels, but which can be adapted as needed. The information content of a picture section is then 27648 pixels. The LED screen 1 usually has a lower pixel resolution (eg 384 × 288) than the connected video source (eg 1280 × 1024), often a different or even specific aspect ratio (eg 720 × 36).
Von
jedem Bildausschnittkontroller 18, 19, 20 gehen
bis zu 50 m.From each frame controller 18 . 19 . 20 go out serial bus lines, which in the section shown here only those of the image detail controller 20 outgoing bus line 21 is shown. Due to the division of the overall picture, each image section controller sends 18 . 19 . 20 only a relatively small amount of information, allowing for data transmission at a relatively low rate and, accordingly, over long distances. A typical data transfer rate is 12 to 16 Mbit / s for one bus line length 21 from up to 50 m.
Ein
Bildausschnittkontroller 18, 19, 20 kann beispielsweise
mit folgenden Bauteilen realisiert werden:
- – Videoschnittstelle
mit DVI-Empfänger
von Texas Instruments TFP201 oder LVDS-Empfänger von National Semiconductor
DS90CR288;
- – Datenbearbeitung
mit FGPA von Actel A3P250;
- – Parametrieren
und Steuerung des FPGA mittels Microkontroller von SiLabs C8051F133;
- – Datenübertragung über die
Busleitungen 21 mittels RS-485 Kontroller von Maxim MAX3062 oder Lichtwellenleitersender
von Avago Vesatile Link-Serie.
An image detail controller 18 . 19 . 20 can be realized, for example, with the following components: - - Video Interface with Texas Instruments TFP201 DVI Receiver or National Semiconductor DS90CR288 LVDS Receiver;
- Data processing with FGPA from Actel A3P250;
- - Parameterization and control of the FPGA by means of microcontroller from SiLabs C8051F133;
- - Data transmission via the bus lines 21 using Maxim MAX3062 RS-485 controller or Avago Vesatile Link series fiber optic transmitter.
Dies
können
50 bis 100 Bildfragmente sein.Over the bus line 21 - As over other, not shown here bus lines - the data transfer takes place serially to a number of image fragment controllers, of which only three image fragment controller example 22 . 23 . 24 are shown. The image fragment controllers 22 . 23 . 24 receive a picture detail of the image detail controller 20 and split this image section on several, smaller image fragments. This can be 50 to 100 image fragments.
Die
Bildfragmentkontroller 22, 23, 24 enthalten
The image fragment controllers 22 . 23 . 24 contain conversion facilities, via which the image detail controller 20 coming image signals are converted into image signal units, if such a conversion is not already in the video source 17 took place. The image signal units consist of data (information) contained in the picture elements 6 be processed so that their LEDs 8th create a specific color point. The image fragment controllers 22 . 23 . 24 In addition, a formatting device, via which several image signal units are combined to form a color data packet and lined up in this color data packet in a specific sequence.
Die
Funktion eines Bildfragmentkontrollers lässt sich beispielsweise mit
folgenden Bauteilen realisieren:
- – Bearbeitung
der Bildsignalinformationen mittels Mikrokontoller von SiLabs C8051F33;
- – Empfangen
der Informationen von dem Bildausschnittkontroller 20 und
Datenübertragung
an die Bildelemente 6 mittels RS-485 Kontroller von Maxim
MAX3062 oder Lichtwellenleiterempfänger bzw. -sender Avago Versatile
Link.
The function of a picture fragment controller can be realized, for example, with the following components: - Processing of image signal information by microcontroller of SiLabs C8051F33;
- Receiving the information from the image detail controller 20 and data transmission to the picture elements 6 using the Maxim-MAX3062 RS-485 controller or the Avago Versatile Link fiber-optic receiver / transmitter.
Verlauf zweier Bilddatenbusse 25, 26 dargestellt
From the image fragment controllers 22 . 23 . 24 one or more image data buses go out, in 2 the course of two image data buses 25 . 26 represented by the middle image fragment controller 23 out. The image data buses 25 . 26 are designed as optical waveguides, as they are as optical waveguides 14 in 1 you can see. Optocouplers on the image fragment controllers 22 . 23 . 24 convert the information in the color data packets into light signals, which then pass through the image data buses 25 . 26 be sent.
Die
seriellen Bilddatenbusse 25, 26 verbinden jeweils
eine Vielzahl von Bildelementkontrollern bzw. Bildelementen 6,
The serial picture data buses 25 . 26 each connect a plurality of pixel controllers or pixels 6 , of which only three pixel controllers 27 . 28 . 29 respectively. 30 . 31 . 32 per data bus 25 . 26 are shown. In every picture element 6 is a separate picture element controller 27 to 32 built-in. The picture element controllers 27 to 32 ensure a constant current with one from the manufacturer of the LEDs 8th specified value and control the luminous intensity of each LED 8th with the so-called pulse width modulation, which divides the current into individual pulses of variable length.
drei LEDs – beispielhaft
The picture element controllers 27 to 32 have receivers that receive the incoming color data packet and convert the information contained therein in the form of light pulses in electrical control signals, which then cause the pulse width modulation. In the illustration according to 2 are each pixel controller 27 to 32 three LEDs each - exemplarily with 33 . 34 . 35 designated - assigned as red, green and blue LEDs 33 . 34 . 35 are formed. These LEDs 33 . 34 . 35 be through one position of the luminous intensity by means of the pixel controller 27 to 32 so controlled that a certain (mixed) color sets in, which is perceived as a single color point (pixel) when perception is removed.
z.B. Gamma-Korrektur, Weißabgleich
etc. Ein Bildelementkontroller 27 bis 32 kann
beispielsweise mit folgenden Bauteilen realisiert werden:
- – Empfangen

Instruments TLC 5941 oder Microkontroller Philips P89LPC932.
A picture element controller 27 to 32 can be realized with the help of fixed logic or even a microprocessor. In the latter case, with the help of the pixel controller 27 to 32 Also, some functions are taken over by the image fragment controllers 22 . 23 . 24 be performed, for example, gamma correction, white balance, etc. A pixel controller 27 to 32 can be realized, for example, with the following components: - - Receiving the information and data transfer to the other pixel controller 27 to 32 using Maxim MAX3062 RS-485 controller or Avago Versatile Link fiber optic receiver / transmitter;

In 3 ist
die Datenübertragung
vom Bildfragmentkontroller 23 bis zu den Bildelementen 6 mittels
des Bilddatenbusses 25 dargestellt. Im Bildfragmentkontroller 23 werden
die Bildsignale – soweit
erforderlich – in
In 3 is the data transfer from the image fragment controller 23 up to the picture elements 6 by means of the image data bus 25 shown. In the image fragment controller 23 the image signals are - if necessary - in individual, each for a single pixel 6 converted certain information in the form of image signal units, which are summarized in discrete color data packets and within a color data packet in the order of the picture elements 6 be lined up. In the example shown, the image fragment controller exits 23 such a compiled color data package 36 with a first image signal unit 37 , a second image signal unit 38 , a third image signal unit 39 and intermediate image signal units with finally the penultimate color signal unit 40 and the last image signal unit 41 , The number of image signal units 37 to 41 corresponds to the number of picture elements 6 that in the image data bus 25 are integrated.
The color data package 36 is from the first pixel controller 27 receive. This is programmed so that it only the image signal unit in the first position 37 reads and the other video signal units 38 to 41 ignored. The image signal unit 37 has all the information to the the pixel controller 27 associated LEDs 33 . 34 . 35 to light up in a specific color configuration. By means of a formatting unit of the picture element controller 27 then becomes the first image signal unit 37 from the color data package 36 removed, and the subsequent image signal units 38 to 41 move forward by one position so that the second image signal unit 38 moves to the first position.
This is the case for the first image signal unit 37 reduced color data package 42 is from the pixel controller 27 sent and passes over the image data bus 25 to the pixel controller 28 of the next picture element 6 , There, the same thing happens as in the pixel controller 27 ie the pixel controller 28 removes the video signal unit now in the first place 38 for driving the associated light-emitting diodes 8th , and the color data package 42 becomes after reduction around the image signal unit 38 formatted such that the third image signal unit 39 moves to the first position, each with Nachrükken the then lined up image signal units 40 . 41 , This color data package 43 is sent and gets over the image data bus 25 to the pixel controller 29 where the above process is repeated analogously.
In
bewirkte Bilder folgen. In subsequent picture element controllers, not shown here, a procedure is followed accordingly until the color data packet represented thereafter 44 remains, that only from the penultimate image signal unit 40 and the last image signal unit 41 consists. This color data package 44 arrives at the penultimate pixel controller 45 where the image signal unit 40 read and from the data packet 44 is removed so that the Bildelementkon troller 45 a data packet 46 sent, that only from the last image signal unit 41 exists and the last pixel controller 47 received and used for the representation of a color. This results in a specific image, followed by each successive color data packets caused images.
In
In the image signal processing device 15 In addition, a command signal device, not shown here, is additionally integrated, by means of which the command signals can be generated and / or sent. The command signals are used to control the luminous intensity of the LEDs 33 . 34 . 35 to correct, for example, when setting the white balance is necessary. The command signals can be transmitted through the image signal source 17 in the image signal processing device 15 be fed. However, the command signal device may also have connection to state sensors that send state signals to the command signal device and generate certain command signals there.
In the example shown, the command signals are processed the same way as the image signals, ie they are converted from command signals for a specific picture element 6 are provided there to effect a correction to command signal units - analogous to the image signal units 37 to 41 - summarized, and from the command signal units command data packets - analogous to the Color data packets 36 . 42 . 43 . 44 . 46 - educated. The command data packets then have the same structure as the color data packets 36 . 42 . 43 . 44 . 46 according to 3 , They are about the image fragment controller 22 . 23 . 24 into the image data buses 25 . 26 fed by placing them in the spaces between each two consecutive color data packets 36 be placed. The screen controller 27 to 42 are formed so that they have their respective intended command signal unit at a predetermined position - analogous to the image signal units 37 to 41 - find and read. Again, there is no addressing, possibly a leading preamble, the command signal units of the image signal units 37 to 41 distinguishable. It is understood that within a command data packet also command signal units may be present which do not lead to a correction of the luminous intensity, so that a correction only in such a pixel 6 is made, which requires the correction.
Alternativ
der Befehlssignale zu den Bildelementkontrollern 27 bis 32.Alternatively, the command signal means may also be incorporated in the image signal processing means 15 be integrated, that the image signals generated therein even before they are sent in the image data buses 25 . 26 Getting corrected. In this case, there is no further processing and subsequent sending of the command signals to the pixel controllers 27 to 32 ,
Die
Bildelemente 6 sind zusätzlich
mit jeweils einem hier nicht näher
dargestellten Temperatursensor versehen, der die Temperatur des
jeweiligen Bildelements 6 erfasst.
The picture elements 6 are additionally provided with a respective temperature sensor, not shown here, the temperature of the respective pixel 6 detected. The temperature sensors are with the pixel controllers 27 to 32 connected so that influence on the luminous intensity of the LEDs via the pulse width modulation 8th . 33 . 34 . 35 can be taken. This is done in such a way that when exceeding an upper threshold of the temperature, the light intensity is reduced by appropriate current control to the heat generation of the LEDs 8th . 33 . 34 . 35 to reduce and thus their temperature. At low outside temperatures, ie falling below a certain threshold temperature, for example -40 ° C, the reverse happens. About the picture element controller 27 to 32 the pulse width modulation is influenced such that the luminous intensity of the LEDs 8th . 33 . 34 . 35 is increased. In this way, the picture elements heat up 6 themselves and are therefore protected from destruction.
Statt
Bildelement 6 in 2 gestrichelt
Dort
werden die jeweils zugedachten Befehlssignaleinheiten gelesen mit
der Folge, dass über
diesen Weg die gleiche Leuchtintensitätkorrektur vorgenommen wird
wie bei der direkten Korrektur innerhalb der Bildelemente 6.Instead of a direct correction within the picture element 6 can also be provided that the temperature signals generated by the temperature sensors after appropriate processing in the Bildelementkontrollern 27 to 32 into the image data buses 25 . 26 are fed, preferably in the spaces between the color data packets 36 . 42 . 43 . 44 . 46 , and the image signal processing device 15 be sent. In this case, connect to the image data buses 25 . 26 after the last picture element 6 in 2 Dashed state data buses shown 48 . 49 indicating the temperature signals to the image fragment controllers 22 . 23 . 24 due. About these status data buses 48 . 49 reach the temperature signals in an evaluation not shown here, where they can be used in various ways, for example, for a temperature display or - when temperature thresholds - to alarm. Alternatively or in combination with this, the evaluation device is connected to the command signal device described above in such a way that command data signals are generated from the temperature signals and command data packets are generated from these command signal units, which are then transmitted via the image data buses in the manner described above 25 . 26 to the picture element controllers 27 to 32 reach. There, the respectively intended command signal units are read, with the result that the same luminous intensity correction is made via this path as in the case of the direct correction within the picture elements 6 ,
