Fixation set for fixation of central venous catheters.

Central venous catheters (CVCs) are usually fixed to the patient’s skin using simple gauze compresses, plaster strips and/or self-adhesive fleece.

These materials must be put together individually and cut to size with scissors. Often, sterility is no longer guaranteed. Applying these materials is cumbersome and time-consuming. Since the plaster strips and adhesive films stick stubbornly to the gauze compress, this dressing can only be removed with relatively rough force. This dressing should be renewed daily.

The invention represents a practical solution for proper, time-saving, hygienic and safe fixation of central venous catheters. The individual parts are coordinated with one another and can be easily and quickly attached and removed. The finished bandage also prevents the catheter from kinking within the bandage. Since all parts are put together in a single package, sterile handling is guaranteed. In some cases, less packaging waste is generated.

When applying the bandage, you start with the wound plaster. This is used to cover the puncture site of the vein. Then a protective film is removed from the compress and the compress is fixed directly to the patient's skin in a suitable position for the venous catheter.

Now the second protective film of the Kora press is removed. The remaining length of the venous catheter is then fixed to this adhesive surface. One or more three-way stopcocks are often used, which are connected to the venous catheter. These are also fixed to the compress and thus have sufficient padding so that they cannot cause pressure points on the patient's skin. The venous catheter placed in this way is now covered by the self-adhesive fleece. The self-adhesive fleece is partially or completely separated at the perforation line. The protective film is then removed from the folds and the adhesive fleece is applied directly to the compress and the patient's skin.

Fixation set for central venous catheters, characterized in that that it consists of a compress (1), a self-adhesive fleece/film (2) and a conventional wound plaster, 2. Compress (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that it is fully or partially self-adhesive on both sides (3). The adhesive surfaces (3) are protected by removable films (4). Alternatively, only one side of the compress can be self-adhesive. 3. Self-adhesive fleece (2) according to claim 1, characterized in that it has a perforation line (5) in the middle, in the longitudinal direction. On the back of this fleece there is a protective film (δ) which has two folds (7) across the perforation line. Between these folds the protective film is cut (8) so that the protective film consists of two parts. The self-adhesive fleece is larger in length and width than the compress. Instead of the fleece parts connected along the perforation line, the self-adhesive fleece can consist of two loose halves.
