The subject matter of the invention can preferably be used in restaurants or similar applications where it is important to signal to service or supervisory staff or other employees that they should be present or ready to receive requests or orders. Especially in restaurants, visitors often become annoyed when attempts to make themselves noticed are unsuccessful or are only noticed after lengthy efforts on the part of the guest.
