Der Mantel der Kühlvorrichtung, die zweckmäßig als Kühltrommel ausgebildet ist, ist ganz oder teilweise mit Rillen versehen, in die einstellbare Abnehmer eingreifen und das Gut abnehmen, das alsdann unmittelbar dem Ofen oder aber einer ihm vorgeschalteten Vorbrenneinrichtung zugeführt wird. Um eine innige Berührung des vorentwässerten Gutes mit dem Mantel der Kühlvorrichtung herbeizuführen, können Walzen oder ähnliche Werkzeuge Anwendung finden, die das Gut auf den Mantel der Kühlvorrichtung aufbringen bzw. aufspachteln.
