Die Erfindung bezweckt, diesem Nachteil abzuhelfen und ein Steigeisen zu schaffen, das mit Leichtigkeit auf jede Schuhgröße einstellbar ist, so daß es nicht mehr nötig ist, eine erhebliche Anzahl verschieden großer Steigeisen vorrätig zu halten. Dieses angestrebte Ziel wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch erreicht, daß das Steigeisen aus zwei gleichen, für sich als Halbsteigeisen (Krötel) verwendbaren, lösbar miteinander zu verbindenden Halbteilen besteht. Diese zu einem Ganzsteigeisen zusammensetzbaren beiden gleichartigen Halbteile bestehen aus einem gestanzten und/oder gepreßten Körper, der drei umzubiegende Zacken sowie zwei ebenfalls umzubiegende Lappen zum Anbringen von Haltemitteln besitzt. Dieser Stanz- oder Preßkörper hat eine etwa halbkreisförmige Aussparung, deren annähernd bogenförmige Umrandung einen ebensolchen Schlitz enthält. Bei spiegelbildlichem Zusammenfügen zweier solcher Halbteile unter Anpassung an die jeweilige Absatzgröße bzw. Schuhbreite überschneiden sich die Schlitze der beiden Halbteile an zwei Stellen, so daß dort die zur festen Verbindung der beiden Teile dienenden Schrauben durchgesteckt werden können. Die beim Zusammenfügen der beiden Teile aufeinanderliegenden bogenförmigen Randzonen der Halbteile sind zwecks besseren Aneinanderhaftens beim Zusammenschrauben beiderseits mit zahnartig wirkenden Aufrauhungen beliebiger Art versehen, ebenso die Haftflächen der für die Verbindungsschrauben der Halbteile verwendeten Unterlegplättchen von entsprechender Form. Die für das Steigeisen bestimmten Halbteile besitzen zusätzliche Schraubenlöcher, die zum Verschrauben der vorderen und hinteren Steigeisen eines Schuhes mit schmalen Verbindungslaschen dienen. Diese Laschen haben zwecks Längeneinstellbarkeit auf die jeweiligeSchuhgröße eine Reihe hintereinanderliegender Schraubenlöcher.
