Extension of a bathtub changing mat or changing table

PROBLEM:

Any changing surface (whether it is a bath attachment or a changing table) is too short for a child older than about nine months.

When changing diapers, the child's legs dangle down and their own weight puts pressure on the calves. This is certainly a very unpleasant feeling for the child, who always tries to keep their legs bent and up. Unfortunately, this doesn't always work, and if it does, it gets in the way when changing diapers.

Sleeping or very tired children are particularly disturbed when they are changed. This can be seen in the children's reaction, who often wake up again and are dissatisfied.

To prevent this problem, the changing mat/chest of drawers would have to be extended at the foot end.

INVENTION:

The extension is designed to provide a comfortable place for larger babies and small children who still need to be changed and for whom all previously offered changing mats and chests of drawers are too short.

ADVANTAGE:

While the child is being laid or sat on the pad/chest of drawers, the conventional size is sufficient. However, as soon as the child is lying down and wants to stretch out its legs, the extension is secured or pulled out. This allows the child to lie comfortably and the mother can still easily reach it to change the diaper. When the extension is no longer needed, it is loosened again or pushed under the pad.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:

The extension, about 25 cm long (variable), adapted to the width of the existing lying surface (and also variable), is attached to the front of the changing mat/dresser.

When not needed, the extension can dangle down or slide under the normal changing surface. When needed, it can be secured with a bracket or pulled out, depending on which attachment method is used.

The size would have to be adapted to the standard lying area.

3rd option: The extension is offered separately and can be retrofitted to existing changing mats.
