SAFETY CRUTCHES with ladder effect

People with walking disabilities who use a pair of crutches - also known as walking sticks - must put them down or put them down when they have finished using them.

These crutches are usually leaned against walls, beds or other pieces of furniture. Due to the static top-heavy nature of the individual crutch, it often falls over and leaves scratches or other damage on the wall and furniture. This is why crutches are very often placed on the floor. The severely disabled person is often unable to pick them up from the floor without help, or can only do so with great difficulty.

The object of the invention is that, through the ladder effect achieved, the crutches can be placed against the bed, the wall or pieces of furniture in such a way that slipping and falling over is prevented.

The ladder effect is achieved according to the invention by attaching a plus of a sturdy Velcro fastener (self-adhesive) to the front of the hand rests of the crutch and a minus of a sturdy Velcro fastener (self-adhesive). When setting the two hand rests down, the two ends of the hand rests can be pushed together, the Velcro fastener grips and holds both crutches together and they can be placed against the wall, table or other furniture without there being a risk of slipping.

The particular advantage of the invention is that the disabled person can easily place it next to his bed or within reach on the wall wherever in the hospital room, bathroom or toilet, and it is also easily accessible to him and no longer gets in the way of other people. Difficult bending or damage as described above is avoided.

The invention is explained in more detail below using a drawing. The plus and minus of the Velcro fastening strip is attached to the end plate of the metal tube on the front of the handle, Figure 1+3. Figure 2 shows the two crutches pushed together and the so-called ladder effect and Figure 4 shows the Velcro fasteners in red (as in Figure 3). This prevents the crutch from falling over as described above.

aanspruch.: Crutches or walking sticks with hand rests, characterized by the fact that a + and a sturdy Velcro fastener are attached to the front ends of the hand rests, so that when the two handles come together a firm connection is created, which enables the pair to be placed firmly against a wall, furniture or other parts of a home like a ladder.
