Nicht mehr also wie bei den üblichen Schalldämpfern für Modell-Motorflugzeuge, bei denen ja besonders auf das Gewicht geachtet werden muß, wird der Auspufftopf einwandig ausgeführt, sondern nach der Neuerung doppelwandig, so daß in den Zwischenraum zwischen den beiden Wandungen Material eingefügt werden kann, das durch äußere Reibung zwischen den durch den Schalldruck bewegten Luftteilchen und dem Skelett des porösen beziehungsweise fasrigen Materials Schallenergie in Wärme umgewandelt wird, so daß die vom Schalldämpfer abgestrahlte Schallenergie deutlich vermindert wird. In einen Auspufftopf (1), der einseitig mit einem Einlaßstutzen (2) versehen ist, werden die Abgase des Motors eines Modell-Motorflugzeuges eingeleitet. Nach Durchströmen von Resonatoren (3, 4) verlassen sie den Auspufftopf (1) über einen Auspuff (5). Der Mantel des Auspufftopfes (1) ist doppelwandig ausgeführt, so daß in den Zwischenraum zwischen den beiden Wandungen schalldämmendes und schalldämpfendes Material (6) eingefügt werden kann. Dadurch wird nicht nur der von der Außenhaut des Schalldämpfers abgehende Schall vermindert, sondern auch Schallenergie in Wärme umgewandelt, so daß insgesamt eine verminderte Schallabgabe erfolgt.The drawing shows a schematic example of such an exhaust reflection silencer.
